Do you remember your "first time"?

I've heard it said that we never forget the "first time", and I would imagine that for most that probably rings true, but as I write this I wonder how many of us remember the "last time".
My son and I have gotten in the habit lately, due to my ever increasing love of the world around me, of looking at the clouds in the morning and evening and seeing what "pictures" we can find in them.  A small thing really but something we enjoy a lot, more and more and something that provides us with a connection.
After our usual round this morning of the "exploding oreo in the sky" that Colt saw, it really made me think.  Most everyone reading this probably remembers a lot of their "firsts", but how many really remember their "lasts".  The last time you snuck into your child's room to watch them sleep, the last time you took the time to look at the stars in the sky and find the constellations. The last time you lay on your back staring up at the clouds, seeing what could be found (they change everyday:)) The last time you listened to the river run, or the birds sing, or the crickets chirp, or watched the sun rise or set?  The last time you danced around the house singing into a hairbrush or spoon? The last time you made love and held your partner afterward and talked of hopes and dreams?   The last time you called your mother, father, grandmother or loved one just to say I love you, and you matter to me. The last time you took the time to help someone in need?  The last time you talked to God and thanked Him for your life?
Tomorrow is not a guarantee.  Do the people that matter to you know it?  Did you take the time today to just stop, be still and listen to all the gifts that God has given you, to feel the sun on your face and the wind in your hair? If tomorrow never came, would you be happy with the way you spent today or would you have regrets?
Life is full of firsts, and they are wonderful experiences to be had.....but lasts can be a great thing too, and never have to mean the end of anything.  Life is so short, and it is truly a blessing and a gift, but all we have is THIS DAY we are in, right here, right now.  Did you stop long enough to actually "live it" or were you merely a passerby trying to keep up with the never ending rat race this world can be.........
Remember this day is all we have.......blush.gif
Are you happy with the choices you are making and the way you are living it?blush.gifblush.gifblush.gifblush.gifblush.gifblush.gif

(((((SHELLY)))))

YES I AM... For once in my life I can say that I am taking the time to smell the flowers that are on their way, and watch the clouds and roll on the rug with my puppies, and listen to the river and the birds... I don't know if it is the beginning of Spring or just the Beginning of ME!!! :) Either way... I will surely take it over where I have come from to were I am at now...

My life is not perfect, no ones is, I am doing the best I can, I do try and remind my frieds every chance i get what they mean to me, because they are the reason I am what I have become..This MIP family I have been blessed to be a part of and without them not sure that I would be doing as well as I am...

I am living in the NOW!!! Wish'n I had found it long ago, but Dang grateful my HP brought me to, and is working thru it with me... What a blessing we all have....

As for my "Lasts".... They are looking pretty good as well..Nature is a beautiful thing, and now that I am enjoying it again, like I have always loved it in the past, Just blessed I am ...Just blessed.... :)

Thanks for your share Ms. Shelly...Reminders are always nice....
Love ya...Jozie

Great thoughts...It is so true we remember our "firsts" but sometimes for get about our "lasts"...I am becoming more in tune with the little things in life that really matter keep in tune with them and remember to be grateful for the things God paints for us in our lifes...living one day at a time...
