Breast Cancer - Helping Others

((((Family)))),

Recovery is all about taking care of ourselves.  It's getting emotionally and physically healthy.  It's about living strong.  Every October I remind you to get those mamograms. A friend of mine who works for a nonprofit group sent me an email.  She has thoroughly checked this site out along with an independent group.  She wouldn't send me something like this if it wasn't legite.  I'd trust her with my life.

By clicking on this site daily (or even just once) the site sponsors donate money towards free mamograms for disadvantage women.  It takes 45,000 clicks to cover one mamogram.  They are averaging 58,000/day (that's 1.3 mamograms/day).  For those of you who would like to participate, please PM me and I will send you the link.  I may try and post it on my whiteboard.  For those of you who choose not to participate, that's fine too.

I believe in paying it forward.  I'm on the computer on a daily basis to get my readings, etc.  I figure I can take an extra few seconds to click on a site that helps other people.  The choice is yours.  For me, in this economy it costs me nothing to do help someone else.  I can't always afford to donate to my favorite charities but I can afford to click on it.  I had a scare a couple of years ago when they found something after my routine mamogram.  I was so scared, but my Alanon family wrapped their arms around me.  You gave me sound advice, and sent many a prayer.  After a biopsy, everything turned out to be fine.  In fact I just had my last follow up with my breast surgeon.  I was given a clean bill of health.  Now I only have to go back yearly for my mamogram and ultrasound.  I don't have to see her anymore (except under happier circumstances!).  Thank goodness I had my mamogram.  Something I will always do and encourage you all to do.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Much love and blessings to you and your families.  Love to the Alanon pets.

Live strong,

Karilynn & Pipers Kitty heart.gif

I'm so glad you made it through the cancer scare. I know many people who did not.  I've certainly benefited from the yearly mamograms for disadvantaged women so I'll be clicking.

I hope your week off was a restful one and that Pipers Kitty behaved!

Maresie.
