I was getting out of the shower this morning and looked at the clock that I have in there to see if I was running late or not. Then I remembered that the clock in my bathroom has a low battery in it, and has for a couple of weeks now been "running slow".
I reminded myself....again.....that I needed to replace the battery so I wouldn't forget one morning and be late to work because of bad information from the clock.
In one of those strange "program" moments I have sometimes I wanted to find something positive about the clock's current state. And a little ditty popped into my head to help me remember that "I have a clock that tell's me what time its not"
I don't know why but I found that really great...and now I don't even feel the need to replace that batter just yet. I have plenty of other clocks that tell me what time it is, but only one that tells me what time its not!!!
Lot of stuff about acceptance for what is in that. Sure I believe my HP has given me the "power to change the things I can" in this case that means I need to remember to pick up a package of batteries next time I am in the store. But for now I am okay with my powerlessness over my "starting to realize it's own powerlessness" clock. Hehehe.
Been smiling about this all morning and just wanted to share.
LOL David.......THANK YOU so much for that share. I need one of those clocks!!!1 Today has begun as a nightmare with a sick child and work responsibilites overflowing......I really needed your post. Helps me to remember to keep it simple:)

That is so cool. I have a clock that is so neat, its trains, but cannot keep the "right time". I keep it in my kitchen, accept that it will be wrong, but nice to look at, and close enough to the time for me. I never thought of that as program before now.
thank you David! I will definetely stop thinking about replacing that clock now! Julie

very clever. :) Now I'll confess that I have 3 watches all of them needing batteries. I have had them in a box by the outgoing mail for at least a year! I have no working watch, and at first it felt funny not to know what time it is All The Time. :) Just because I'm too lazy to drive across town to the jewelers', I have been pretending I'm on vacation and don't Need a watch. How crazy of me. Now, David, you've made it ALL RIGHT
LOL - awesome perspective. I also have a clock that needs a battery - I've always thought of it being right twice a day, but I like your take on it too!
