Happy Valentines Day to me...

I've really been struggling with getting into an exercise routine.  Working full-time and having the kids mostly with me, have made it difficult to carve out that time on a regualr basis.  The gym is out due to the expense, time and social factor.  So, I got to thinking...

I did a google search on using the Wii fit for weight loss, and everything I saw was positive.  So, I went out and purchased one (we already have the game system), and did it tonight for the first time.  I like it in that I am by myself, it tracks progress, and gives feedback.  I picked a guy to be my trainer and he compliments me.  Oh, and my kids think its for them.  wink

When all the chaos started with my ah a couple of years ago, I dropped about 25 lbs and I loved the way I felt and looked.  Of course, it wasn't healthy weight loss, for I literally felt myself being eaten away at night from my worry.  Once things normalized a bit, it all came back.  More than anything, I want to feel strong and healthy.  I've never been hooked on anything.  Never a passion.  I want to work at something and accomplish it, and am hoping a healthier body can be my goal.

So, Happy Valentines Day to me.  Actually, I saw a woman on the news promoting her new book, "Putting Me Before We", and today, Feb. 13, was identified as national "I'm in Love with Me Day", or something like that.  Now, can't say I am even close to that, but I am okay with my kids being my valentines this year.  We are going to go to a movie.

Thanks for being here for me to share with and learn from. You are all very special to me.

Blessings,
Lou

I hear the wii fit is really cool.  I bought one for my brother and nephew for Christmas.  YOU GO -- great solution!

((((((Lou)))),

What a great story.  I too need to drop a few pounds.  Work is getting more and more stressful (remember I work retail) and it's scary.  I am trying to practice the Serenity Prayer and remind myself that I can only do what I can do with the limited hours I have.  I did indulge myself by buying an IPOD shuffle.  I use to walk with my big old CD player that hubby got me years ago.  I can't wait to put my music on and go for long walks.  It will certainly help my stress level.  I also like to work out at home with strength bands.  An inexpensive way to maintain my health.

Valentines Day was always bittersweet for my Tim.  His Mom passed away on that day.  We were never big into celebrating it anyway.  Usually Pipers Kitty would go out and buy us cards!  I do miss my Tim today.  But I know he's with us.  I have the weekend off and my indulgence is to make myself some mint chocolate brownies (then I'll  have roast turkey breast for dinner with a roasted pear salad). hungry.gif  I'm just going to take my time do some chores and relax.  relax.gif

When we come to this program we are often sick physically and mentally.  I remember dropping weight like crazy.  We forget that we need to take care of bodies as well as our minds.  It's all about self-esteem and self love.  We are so worthy and deserving of being happy and healthy.  Thanks for the reminder.  Have fun with your Wii.  Love and blessings to you and your family. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU!

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty heart.gif
