Living with the effects of Alcoholism

G'day my name is Andy and I am an Adult-child of an alcoholic and brother of an alcoholic and my family has a long history of alcoholism. I to am an Alcoholic in Recovery and a member of both Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-anon.

Everyday like all members of Al-anon and those who can not be with us today live with the effects of Alcoholism and I joined Al-anon because my sponsor said to me "if you are having problems with your thinking due to the effects of someone elses alcoholism, then you need Al-anon".

And each day since I have been asking for help with my thinking and looking for a better way to live One Day At A Time.

I have been going to Al-anon for over 5 years now. Sparingly at first and today regularly. And now today I have to learn to practice my programs in my own home with my girlfriend who has too been affected by a problem drinker.

With the grace of god, Al-anon and Alcoholics Anonymous and friends like you, I have better options to choose from if I should choose to use them today.

Thanks for being there for me today and have a great day.

luv andy.

Aloha Andy!!

Blimey!!  I'm glad you posted your ESH!!  I'm happy you had such an
open minded sponsor...they are life saving miracles are they not.  Give'm
a hug for me.  Reminds me of my sponsors too!!  You sound doubly
blessed and I pray that your recovery rubs off on your Girl Friend enough
that she might seek the rooms also if she hasn't already.

Grateful for your stop here and share.  Keep coming back.  You know it
works!!   (((((hugs))))) smile

Glad to have you, keep coming, keep posting,
