Around here Alateen has trouble getting enough people at meetings and sometimes when the teens show up, the adult leader doesn't. Pretty frustrating... I've taken my granddaughter several times to a meeting that didn't happen. I think the qualifications for the adult leaders have gotten more stringent to where many who would otherwise be interested dont' even bother. It's too bad really. In the mean time, she has been going occasionally to young peoples' AA meetings (open) which she seems to get a lot out of.
Lanchas, I've logged into the teen meeting room this past Thursday and also last Sunday, each time probably 5-10mins after the designated start time... I hung around for 10 mins or so and no one was in the chat, so I logged out.... Heck maybe I did something wrong in the login but that's not likely as I'm pretty tech-saavy..
Maybe I just picked the wrong time to login.... were you able to join and were there any others in the chat? I'd be happy to try again....
You may have logged it at the wrong time I don't know. Unfortunately I haven't made it at all to any of the teen meetings. I appreciate that you have gone in even for the short time that you have. i am working on being in the teen room whenever i sign onto the boards and remain in their for the entire time i'm on because that way at least there's one person always there for the teens if needed. I feel so bad for them....people stop coming because it seems dead then when someone comes people either miss the teen or something and so they don't return or at least have yet to do so.
