Today is Christy's Birthday. She's all of 29 years old today and it is fitting that her birthday is during the winter season as she is our snow bunny always sharing pictures of her neck of the woods and hubby's too.
Thank you Christy for being here for all of us, for sharing your experience, strength and hope that some of us can make it and can live happily with a recovering spouse.
love ya Girlfriend, have a wonderful day! Maria

Happy Birthday Christy!! 29!!! I know alot of oldtimers on this board that along with me can barely graciously smile at that number. Keep coming back!!
Thank you guys...and especially ((((my Maria))) for always remembering everyone's birthday. "Oldtimer" Jerry? I believe you just earned a smackdown...lol
I was talking to a very dear Alanon buddy today. I told her that as much as we can never understand the alcoholic, that today on my birthday I do understand one small part of the disease....DENIAL!!! Seriously, I'm very grateful for my good health and life. I have trouble with the concept of being 54, it's just a meaningless number. I feel 35-40. I'm on the go all the time. I'm sure having teenage boys here all the time helps keep me in the groove. Attending blast your ears out rock gigs isn't the norm for someone my age but I'm my son's biggest fan (though I desperately try to stay out of the mosh pit :).
I had a great day. My daughter and I spent about 3 hrs at Lowe's picking out paint, new window blinds (really cool ones), draperies and a drapery rod for my dining room. Hubby bought me a new dining table/chairs for Christmas so of course I have to update it's surroundings.
Later my kids took me to dinner. My 4 yr old (almost 5) Grandson sang Happy Birthday to me fromthe back seat of the car and had us all laughing at his rendition..."Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to my favorite old Gramma Jo." He's lucky I love him..lol
After dinner a good friend stopped in and we yacked for about an hour..whew!! I hit the floor running about 8:00 this morning and finally kicked my shoes off at about 11:45 p.m.,
I still have stuff to do tonight. The house is getting new windows tomorrow so I have to move things out of the way and take down drapes. My dining room picture window is 107" long. I can't wait to have the 20 degree air blowing in while they change it out...NOT!!
I better get crackalackin! After that I'll be chillaxin. (teen speak..lol)
Thanks again for the Birthday wishes. In return I wish you all true peace that only comes from within.
Christy

I reminded Momma that your birthday was yesterday (along with another friend of ours). But you know Momma she has the memory of a sieve (did I tell you how old she is?)! I captured a mouse for you, but Mom still hasn't mailed it. It is so cold outside that it has now turned into a mousesicle. Maybe she'll remember to mail it in the spring. In all fairness, Mom has been sick. But I still made sure she fed me my Fancy Feast because I was taking care of her. Besides I can't open the can! Funny how I can type though!
Anyway here's hoping you had an extra special birthday! Remember calories don't count on your birthday week. So go ahead, have your and eat it too! HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I can absolutely see you in a mosh pit. I myself, prefer to be in a mouse pit. But to each his/her own. Much love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Pipers Kitty and Momma too!
