the following is a letter i received a few years back from a 15 year old girl
Dear Eddie alateen is where i go to let off steam. it helps to think there is other people out there that know exactly what i am going through i get mad really easy i hate getting angry it makes me feel unclean i hate the way mum gets really angry over something that dad has done i hate being put down in front of mum's friends it makes me feel real stupid is there a way to feel better about mum's attitude or do i just put up with it
Me too eddie , yrs ago we took kids to a confrence and there was a young girl there who if u looked real hard u could tel she was a girl and not a boy . that kid had to be dragged into every meeting she always managed to hide when it was time , the rule was if there is a meeting your in it . anyway I should describe the way she looked , half her head was shaven the other half in a pony tail , Sunday morn we always had a spiritual meeting and said our good byes , i looked around the circle and our girl wasn't there and I thought well ya finally managed to pull it off . As the teens shared about thier weekend I was bawling as usual but when a girl spoke up and introduced herself i recognized her voice , I looked up and there she was sitting directly across from me - her hair was down and she had a sun dress on and the girls had helped her with makeup she was adorable = and out of her mouth comes* I wish this was just starting I think I can trust you now !!! and thats why I am stil involved in alateen 20 yrs later .
