Thank you for helping me along the way

One of my first problems when I started this program, was the "do something good for yourself" concept.  I drew a complete blank.  After alot of thinking, I decided it was taking a nice hot BATH.  It cost me nothing, didn't require me leaving the house, and let others in my life see that I was serious about taking "me time".  There are times I have to get up a few minutes earlier, and others where I go to bed a few minutes later.  I have also replaced some of that mindless time I have spent in front of the TV.  I light some candles, and get in.  The first thing I do after I say awwwwwwwwwww, is start making a mental list of things that happened that are good and things I am thankful for.  Sometimes its hard, but it is getting easier everyday.  The reason I am sharing this with you is to let you know that often, the first thing that pops into my mind is a posting or a reply to a posting that I have read here.   They make me think.  Sometimes its something new I have learned, a new "trick" that helps along the path of recovery, and sometimes it just a new way of looking at what I already knew.  There are times I see where I was, and others where I can see where I want to be.  I often reply to a post, and in typing it, I can see my growth.  I feel good being able to welcome new members, and just give the support I have received from so many of you.
My "me time" is serving me well.  Thank you so much for being there and giving me even more things to be thankful for.

Hello Leea,

My taking care of me time also started with taking baths. Using the time for much of the same meditations, I still take one almost every day. I lost a bit of the using it for reflection time somewhere. Thank you for posting, i need to put some effort into getting that habit back.

Jen

Thank you for posting this as I need to get back into the swing of things after a stressful few days and this has given me inspiration.
