A little bit of gratitude.....

I spent a lot of time forgetting a lot of my past due to a very abusive marriage to a A.  Spent so much time blocking out the past that it's hard to look back and remember enough to be grateful for where I am now.  I'm a single mom and have raised my son by myself for 10yrs with no help from his father.  I have fought to work and stay off assistance and be a good parent and it has been very hard financially.  I was blessed enough two years ago to buy us a house and provide stability for us.
Yesterday while I was cleaning I found one of those old plastic M & M mini containers...I used to save quarters in them for the laundry mat.  Every Sat bright and early for 10yrs I drug my son out and off the to laundry mat we went, spending one whole day off washing and drying and folding.......I wished and wished that one day I would have enough for my own washing machine.
Yesterday as I was cleaning and fussing because I had to do allllll this laundry, I found this old container and remembered where I came from.  Things are still tight, and hard and frustrating at times, but my son and I are truly blessed in Many many ways.......the M& M container made me remember how far we have come and just how lucky I am now.

great post!  I try to pause and really appreciate the smallest bits of gratitude and joy thoughout the day.  Before  I know it, they add up to be a bunch that can usually balance any struggle of the day ...... especially if I focus on the gratitude & joy.  (-:

hugs, ddub

THANKS SHELLY!
I MAY NOT BE IN A SIMILIAR SITUATION AS YOU ARE BUT
I CAN REALLY APPRECIATE THE GRATITUDE.
I NEED TO BE REMINDED SOMETIMES OF ALL I HAVE TO
BE GRATEFUL FOR.
SOMETIMES SIMPLE THINGS CAN BRING US BACK.  I
HOPE I CAN REACH A POINT WHERE SIMPLE THINGS
ARE MORE APPRECIATED.
WE ALL NEED GRATITUDE & IT COMES FROM OUR HP
WHO LOVES US UNCONDITIONALLY SO WHY AREN'T
WE ALWAYS GRATEFUL?
THAT'S IT FOR NOW, MORE TO COME!
KATHLEEN
