My reality today

I have money in the bank. I checked my 401K/investments, etc. I have lost much money less than some and more than others. My relationships at work are crap. My personal relationships are crap too. My relationship with my AHSober is next to nothing. My three sons are off on their life paths. Don't forget your mother. My health is so good. My house is warm because I went out to find wood last weekend. My theme song for today is "I will survive". I am so sad so much of the time (the opposite of happy). I understand that it is my responsibility (not my fault and I am learning that there is a difference). I have a job - I work from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm today. Hard for an elder like me. I had chocolate for breakfast. I now have a place to go with all of this - 12 Step Meetings. I went to an AA speaker meeting last night. We are all in this together. I now have some new tools from my toolbox (thanks for reminding me that I do have a toolbox). They work some of the time and when they don't I can forgive myself. I read my journal this morning and I have had a great year and I have two more months to go. My sense of my HP grows and grow with each crisis. I look forward to completely letting it all go. Thank you so much for showing me how to give and be truly supportive. Thank you for being there. This is my reality today.

Nancy

((((((Nancy))))))  Aloha No!

I loved that post especially the gratitudes mixed in with the needs!  Members
who do this mentor my own program.  I don't speak of the downs very often
because they are temporary and no matter what is going on for me "Happiness
is an inside job".  I am soooo very grateful for the Alateen that gave that to me
just at the right time and I hope she is getting every blessing HP would ever
give to HP's creation.

Chocolate for breakfast!!!!!!!  awesome.  What a concept!  I don't think I have
any laying around right now and I've never had avacado with crackers and a
chocolate chaser but I'm still teachable.  Wait I know where some is.  Gotta wait
till tomorrow morning.   I'll let you know how I affected.   LOL

Keep growing and keep coming back.   (((((hugs))))) smile

Proud of your progress and how you mentor others like me
Say it like it is, accept it, grow and you are growing - thanks Nancy for sharing.

at one meeting I go to, the ending is holding hands in a group
to recite a prayer, then we say "keep coming back,it works, if you work it"

a few fun loving members add "it sucks if you don't"
now I will add, when I slip up because I forgot to use the toolbox and work it, I will have chocolate for breakfast and try again.biggrin

hugs, ddub

Chocolate sounds really good right about now. It sounds like you are keeping the hope. Tommorrow is a brand new day!

(((((Nancy)))),

Chocolate is medicinal.  The doctors have said so.  So go ahead and have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! hungry.gif  There are days when things look brighter.  This morning, I'm a little sad.  I miss my Tim very much.  We have had the first snowfall of the season.  We would call each other (if I was at work) and be so excited about it.  So all I can do is look to the sky and say: "Do you see it honey?"  I know he does. But I am greatful we had the time to play in the snow. So thanks for reminding me to count my blessings.  Pipers has decided that she'd rather lie on the cable box and warm her tummy rather than pounce on the snowflakes.  (She's getting older.) I thinks she's counting her blessings that she has a warm cable box to lie on.  wink Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty aww

P.S. Try scrambled eggs and avocados - YUM! Then have chocolate for dessert.
