I absolutely LOVE quotes, and use them often in my photo editing, etc... While reading today I came across one that really touched me and made me stop and count my blessings. "The purpose of life, is a life of purpose". I have no idea who said it first but they were obviously a very wise person. Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives to really stop and take the time to look around at all there is to see. I am very guilty of this and until this past week can't imagine I would EVER slow down or take some "me" time in my life. Thanks to Al Anon I have been practicing just that-though I still have a longgggggggg way to go, every day I find myself drawn back to these boards, back to people I've never me and find myself very much at peace when I get here. I've learned in just a few short days to stop and look at my son, and be thankful for my home and my job, and I am learning two things that have been sticking in my mind.........Keep it simple and let go and let GOD! It is an amazing adventure and only the beginning.....

I couldnt agree more, I too visit here daily, and the feeling of acceptance and peace is amazing. The wisdom and experience shared on these boards is life changing. Having gratitude for today, taking the time to enjoy the positive things each moment brings is a great place to start. I'm happy your here. Keep coming back
Hello Ms. Shelly, you are so correct. MIP is teaching me to fix myself and this is very new to me. You know I used to feel this way about 20 years ago, loving life. Finding peace though is not like getting back on a bicyle and just wiggling but not falling then your riding like an old pro. Letting Go and Letting God is really going to take notes like yours for me to STOP and learn to rethink things. What a beautiful share and I to find peace when I am here. Thank you for making me value what I do have today. Kelly
Yes, gratitude is such a great direction to always take. It wasn't long ago that I scoffed the counting of blessings because I had allowed all the chaos, pain, trouble to be the biggest and only thing in my day. Working ever harder and harder to fix everything for everyone with a goal of yes, now everything is good so I can be grateful. How far from the truth that I once knew but lost because of this family disease.
I am grateful every day, gratitude can fill my thoughts more than anything now and for that I am also thankful. Great post!
hugs, ddub
