Just glad

Newbie here. Just wanted to say again that I'm so glad to be here. I'm reading so much that I can relate to and glad to know that I'm not the only one. I'm focusing on me today and praying for guidance from hp.

Thanks for your support.smile

((renee12)) Welcome,

I'm glad you found MIP. You seem to be absorbing ESP from prior post. Nothing like getting a jump start. The Al-Anon program can do wonders for you and help you in so many ways in dealing with the problems alcohol has caused or is causing in your life.

The last sentence of your post says it all. If you continue to focus on you and turn your A over to your HP, your have over half the battle won.

Since you have been reading some of the prior post you probably know the next thing I will suggest. Yep, Get yourself to f2f Al-Anon meetings as soon as you can. You will love the people you meet there and they will become like a second family to you. They are walking or have walked in your shoes, and they will understand what you are going through. Please do that for yourself you deserve it.

Keep coming back and posting because the members of MIP have tons and tons of ESP, and love sharing it. Your life will get better. Now practice what you said in the last sentence of your post, focus on you and turn your AH over to your HP. (((HUGS))) RLC

P.S. I noticed which state you are from, I live one state south of you, so I'm sorry but I have to say "Roll Tide" next Saturday. LOL

Hi Renee, I am so glad you are here!

In the beginning, I thought that as I began to accept he was an alcoholic, I needed to DO SOMETHING about it. Good for you, you already have the ideal focus! Al-anon reminded me of a Higher Power that intimately loved me (this was earth-shattering, how did I forget this?) My sponsor would say, God loves you," and I would start sobbing.

Miracles are already happening, you already have another key element of the program, taking care of yourself... WHATEVER that looks like. "Whatever taking care of yourself looks like, do that," my sponsor would always say. For me, that translated into getting to as many meetings as I could, to get out of the isolation I was in because a sick mind cannot cure a sick mind. As you recover, you cannot imagine the ripple effect.... the VALUE you will become to your daughter and others, maybe even your A. I always liked the visual reminder of a triangle, putting my HP first in my life, at the very top of the triangle.... then myself in the middle, and all others below. Because, when I am connected to my HP, I am at my very best for everyone else in my life.

So glad you are with us, as we recover together.
((((hugs))))

Hooray clap.gif Renee,

This program works if you work it and you are so worth it as you are already seeing.

Welcome aboard,
Maria
