Just my annual, gentle reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We need to get our mamograms, do our self-exams and in general take good care of ourselves. Men, this means you too. Men can and have gotten breast cancer. A colleague of mine, found a lump, had a mamogram and a biopsy. Lucky for him everything was fine. He is now adamant about his wife doing it. I too have had a biopsy or two. I'm glad I did, and there's nothing to worry about.
Recovery is about self love and taking back our lives. It's about taking care of ourselves. We focus so much attention on our As that we tend to loose site of what we need to do to take care of ourselves. So let's start by doing this small thing. I am off this morning to get mine. Make those phonecalls . Do this for yourself. Do this because you are so worth it. Love yourself. I promised my beloved Tim that I would keep up on these appointments and take care of me. That's what I am doing. Do it in honor of a loved one, if that's what it takes.
Well off to the doctors. Then I am taking myself out to lunch as my reward. or maybe window shopping. I expect to hear that all of you have made your appointments (and kept them!). I want to hear progress reports.
Much love and blessings to you and your families.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Thank you so much for the reminder. Because of the family history of breast cancer, I have had mammograms since I was 35. One year they did find a lump and I had a biopsy but thankfully it turned out to be nothing. I had mine done in late Spring, which was a good thing because now I'm pregnant and that might be just way too painful right now LOL.
Thank you again and I hope yours too went well *hug*

My best friend just found out yesterday that she has breast cancer. We are praying her treatment will go well and she will survive. The diagnosis is scary and my heart hurts for her, but I am so happy she found out hopefully in time. Thanks so much for the reminder. We deserve to take care of ourselves and it's really up to us to do that!
