Dear all, It seems to be boundary test for me at the moment, my work situation has turned insecure, I knew this was likely, and I will be lucky to sitting at a desk next week, I will have work until december though but have no workspace, I'll get over it. A friend who I thought was really for me has let me down, and I have had to set some really firm boundaries with same, refusing a lot of requests from same, But hey I have a job interview for a good job next week, who knows right? Put it in HPs hands,
My boundaries get better all the time. I am glad you have another interview. I have an interview tomorrow for a job I don't much want but that has good benefits so I'll take it. The economy is worrying me. I had a very very very hard time the last recession. Living with the A didn't help at all. He reinforced my insecurity.
I am sorry you do not have a desk. I've definitely been on that merrygoround.
Initially sticking to the boundaries I would set for myself would be the challenge, even bigger than creating and defining them for myself. The amazing thing I have found is each time I do follow it through it reinforces my resolve, strengthens my self esteem and gives me some of my individual power back. IMHO, boundaries ought to be very firm or why set them? It is a limit we define for our own life & serenity. Althought it was hard in the beginning & b/c the boundaries were a foreign concept, I've had great success with them.
Even simply saying "No." as a full sentence can be a powerful tool to help us learn to protect ourselves better.
You seem to have a really great attitude and are accepting & dealing with the reality at work. I'm sorry your friend turned out to be a disappointment, it's happened to us all.
Keep putting the focus on yourself and good luck with the new job opportunity!
