strange dream

In my dream last night I was hanging out with some friends (people from back in school in my teenager years), we went to this bar and each of us ordered a few mini bottle drinks, then we got into my truck (I don't even own a truck) and drove off. I was drinking and driving. Then I decided to pull over and let my friend drive because I had a few drinks. She also had a few so I don't know why I let her drive.

My bf wasn't far from there. I had to make sure he didn't know I was drinking because he's sober. Then I was looking for him and couldn't find him. That's all I can remember.

In real life I was an occasional drinker before my bf quit (maybe 2 drinks a month if that). Now I don't drink at all because of his sobriety.

My question is, can anyone interpret this dream, what is means if anything?

Well it is just my ESH.  Everything in the dream represents parts of you and symbols from the past.  When I do my own dream interpretation I go by the feelings that were elicited for me and work on those.  For me personally and it is my ESH I don't find my dreams prophetic but they are generally about some things I am working on.

Maresie,

I don't have any feelings about the dream, I just thought it was odd. It is wierd that out of the blue I dream about people I have not seen in years, even sometimes about people I don't really know. I guess the major factor in this dream was alcohol, me drinking and not him.

The reason I posted this really is that most of the time I learn from other's point of view and it shows me things that I didn't realize. Thank you maresie. I always treasure your posts. :)

Aloha buick!!

Although buicks are cars, trucks are usually indicators of men.  Drinking and
driving or not drinking and driving is a value of yours and you follow that value
in your dream and turn the driving over to someone else who has been drinking
and that violates your value system and also is fearful.  It concerns you.
Though you say you don't consciously think about his drinking could it be that
subconsciously you are still afraid of it and it and drinking?  Dreams are
subconscious metaphors. Your friend could be a stand in for your alcoholic.
Any person other than  yourself could have played that role in your dream.
Friend? Your bf is a (f) friend someone who is close to you.

You are still concerned and fearful that maybe he might relapse...go back to
drinking and drink and drive and you would let him?

Maybe?

um hm, to what Jerry said.

My question is why did he put his lizard in his hat and call his momma?  hahahahaha

Love you guys.....the neat thing is although our brains never shut off, we don't have to understand what is going on in our dreams..it's like Jerry said our dreams are unconscious metaphors thank heaven on a deeper level we are working it out without our knowlege.

Do what you do best, keep on keepin' on, Easy Does it.

Jerry,

thanks for getting your wizard hat out for me. smile.gif I thought about what you said and it could be possible that my subconsious mind is afraid he would relapse. Then again, aren't most people afraid it would happen? It could even happen after 50 years of sobriety I suppose.

I have an idea of what my plan b could be if he does relapse so I don't flip out and scream should it happen.

So if trucks are indicators of men, my car must be female smile.gif

You said maybe I would let him if he would drink and drive again. It would be 'his' choice to do that, so I would not try to stop him.

Thanks everyone.
