Yesterday at work, I completed a service transaction and then happily proceeded to tell the person who performed the work, that she had been given a $10.00 tip. After awhile, she came back to me and told me that the software did not register the tip. In disbelief, I could see that it was true, even though I remember going through the motions, perhaps the click of the mouse didn't work....I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. She was very upset about this.
She walked away, and I was preparing to give her the money from my own wallet but I decided to phone my sponsor instead. My sponsor said that giving her my personal money didn't feel right... That I am human and I made a mistake. She felt that if I had done something intentional, (like if I had stolen some money and felt bad about it,) then it would be appropriate to pay it back. But this was an honest mistake. She told me to forgive myself and put the money back in my wallet and just apologize for the mistake.
Well, it sure seems like it would be easier for me to pay this girl her money, because she is not going to let me forget it!!!
I was just wondering if there are some other thoughts on making amends. Thank you for being here with me.

I think we are human and mistakes happen. I don't feel like you owe her. I have to sit on it when I feel over responsible. Not acting when I feel the overwhelming desire to act is so key for me. I can be compulsive in over responsibility.
