You would not believe the day that I had!

Guess what? My books/software for college were never shipped out.

The order wasn't even processed.

I called the book store this morning, talked to the manager, and the lady who was supposed to be processing my order went home sick earlier this morning, and the manager couldn't even find the paperwork my VR worker had faxed for authorization.

This has been a nightmare beyond description, over two weeks long.

So, I reluctantly drove the Nissan to campus as I can't very well hitch hike the 40 miles and back.

The manager apologized profusely for the other gal dropping the ball completely and me having to drive over there. I feel sorry for her as I think she's doing the best she can with what she has, and obviously she has little to work with when it comes to competent employees.

Ladies, I proudly present my heavy pile of text books and software for college!

Now I've got to install the MS Pro 2007, the SAM testing software, take two tests and bust my hind end the rest of this week!!!!!!

I am so inspired by your posts about school!! Maybe I will someday... maybe. It feels like that ship has sailed because I'm in my mid-40's....

Thanks for posting. I look forward to reading more!

Hey gal, your ship hasn't even left port yet! I turned 50 in May of this year.

Today, I also got to meet the owner of a drug-specific recovery forum that I help to moderate, his wife just turned 50 and she's in college to get her RN!

It's never too late! biggrin

I just finished grad school- got two masters degrees and am going to be 45 in October. Never too old to go to school of any kind. Never too old to learn. Its fun!!! You are so worth it, too. Its one of the best investments you will ever make in yourself, too. Generates a great role model for those around you, especially younger women and girls, too. Increases your life expectancy, your perspectives, etc. Keep an open mind, no one is ever too old to begin anew in all sorts of ways! Hugs, J.

Hey, that's pretty exciting, the pile of new books.... okay, old books, hehe.

Way to go - you just kept doing the next right thing for YOU, recognizing that other people in the world have free choice too, and sometimes - dang it all - you're not going to be at the top of their list of considerations.  And by golly, you got it done.

Now the fun part! aww

What a good compromise. I make a point of allowing for contingency.  I think its hard going to be "real".  I also know not being "real" set me up to accept the A's craziness.

TH,

All the best to you in school. Great subject area you are in! This isn't to one up you but to tip you off as to what the other half is doing. I'm a teacher. I am going to class tonight without a book. I was told that I was teaching this class last week. I have barely a clue about what to say tonight much less what is in the book. I do know my name.

In support,
Nancy
