Two of my college classes started yesterday. My youngest had done some online classes through an adult education center, and they used the Blackboard system. I had also taken a few online courses through University of Phoenix.
Yesterday once I got logged on, I was overwhelmed! I am a very computer literate person, but this particular online campus is something else.
Those little doubts started to creep in again, you know the ones that tell you that you just can't do it.
I had to stop, take several deep breaths, and just start reading and learning how to navigate.
I know I will be okay. It was kind of like being a foreigner in a strange land and not knowing their language!
I did get my first assignment done already in my Microcomputer Aps class and my Human Relations class, so I feel really good about that

To me, what you are doing is amazing!! I am so envious of people that can go to school. I do not have a college degree. Tried 3 times, but had to face it that school is just not right for me. My sister is going back to school for her nursing degree and I admire her so because she has not quit or given up even through her rough times.
nice work THSKS, you know I am sitting right next to you rooting for you. I know that there will be tough moments but you have a program like a rope to the barn in a snowstorm, missy. Thanks ladies! I never would have made it this far without my 12 step programs, not the least of which is Alanon, and a loving higher power.
My pain management specialist told me this morning he's darned proud of me, my regular physician told me he's proud of me, everyone has, and it is such a good feeling.
I thought of you, Jean, when I felt overwhelmed and reminded myself if you can do it, so can I!

Maybe someday I will go back to school. For now, schooling my kids at home is enough. Thanks to this program I can really enjoy watching my kids learn and grow.

Thanks for the reminder that there's an alternative to panicking and giving up. Well, I KNOW there is, but when I get it this mode, it might as well be on the moon. Stopping and taking several deep breaths - that's a lot closer than the moon. I can do that.
