This morning my youger son and dil left for Japan to live for the next 3 years. They will come back for a visit Christmas 2009. My son is in the Navy and he met his wife in Japan when he was stationed there before. He will be on sea duty for this time. I am happy that she can be with her family while he is out to sea. In 2006 we went to Japan with them for a vacation, I am not too sure I would want to make that trip again. Of course.....if she has a baby.........we will see!!!
My older son has been sober for 6 months. He is doing pretty good but is not yet in any program. I will leave that to him and his HP. I am just grateful that he is sober today.
Have a great weekend everyone. I am off to the beach again after work.
Lemme give your heart a (((((hug))))). I would be sad too. Wow! 3 yrs. Ouch!! I'd be having a meltdown. I can sympathize. When my oldest daughter went in to the Army I was in a slump for a few days. I had empty nest syndrome last week when my son was sequestered with his fellow band members for a week... (writing/playing/practicing music in preparation for a big show). He popped in and out a few times to grab some clothes. The silly thing is he does live here and I knew he was coming back..lol I was really missing him by the time he finally came home. The drummer's Mom must be a Saint to deal with 4 boys and a bunch of constant rock-n-roll. :)
Thankfully there are many ways to keep in touch. webcam maybe? I know it's not the same as giving your boy a big hug though.
Take care sweetie, Christy

((((((((((Gailey))))))))) Good for you for recognizing and acknowledging your feelings and most of all for reaching out to those in recovery. I am sending you my best wishes. I hope your time at the beach will brighten your day!
Pipers Kitty and I have are sending you all the warm fuzzies we can. A quiet house is very hard to get use to. I remember when you went on that trip. Me thinks you'll travel back there again regardless if there's a baby or not. Thank your son for his service to our country. My Tim was a Navy Seal. I greatly appreciate all his does for our country, as you and your family. Military life is not easy on the families. Enjoy the beach. Love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
