I used to be a member of this board years back and I just wanted to say hello to everyone!
A little bit about me....
I was raised with an alcoholic mother. I became an alcoholic myself at age 18. I have been battling addiction/sobriety since age 27 when I vowed to quit. I have relapsed since then but I know that staying sober is the best thing for me. I know this is an alanon board and I will be joining the AA board as well. I use this board to keep my sanity with my mom, which has actually eased up since I have been able to set some healthy boundaries, not only with her, but will people in general in my life. I have always been that person who took care of everyone but myself. I take care of me now! I have not however, threw my caring nature away completely though. I turned my dependent nature into a caring one and I still reach out and help but I dont' have to be a doormat anymore!
I just wanted to say hello and God Bless all of you!
Welcome back !! My father, brother and sister are A's and so is my husband. I struggle with the idea that addication could be a problem for me if I drink. This is the right place to be, for me, it helps to know that others are dealing eith the same things that I am.
Take Care,
Claudia
