It's HUGE!!!

HI to all who know and those who don't: I GOT MY DRIVER'S LISCENCE!!!!
I had so much anxiety and fear about about driving, and was totally dependant on AH for so many things related to the fact I couldn't drive. I tolerated horrible behavior and actions, including letting him drive when I knew he was drunk because I couldn't drive, or depending on him to transport the kids to appoitments, he was always late- sometimes forgetting entirely. NO MORE, that' over now, I'm moving on, Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone!!
BTW I took ownership of our brokedown car and had it fixed, so I am on the road w/ my own set of wheels on top of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You, RJ, are awesome! What a great example of taking one step at a time to take care of yourself. I'm so proud of you!

(((Jamie))) You just did a reverse on the three C's. In one quick step you stopped your "A" from "Causing" you to be late, "Controling" when and where you go, and "Cured" yourself and your kids from having to ride with a drunk driver. Just a great new wrinkle to the three C's. I say you passed a test much larger than a drivers test today. Good for you. (((HUGS))) RLC

P.S. You ladies are always a step ahead of us men, we know that but we just don't like to admit it very often. LOL

Magnificent, and I echo RLC and Jerry, could not have put it any better. That is a wicked twist on the three C's and what wonderful freedom...amazing.

Thank you, it's hard to communicate the helplessness and shame I had associated wih this. I felt like I couldn't take care of myself. I am still a little timid on the road, don't want to do too much, and I can't park for crap! But I drove myself home today, i didn't have to wait in the lobby while all my coworkers left. I didn't have to call home to remind him I was there, or watch for his car to come into veiw, weaving this way and that way until it slowly made it to me. I didn't have to smell beer when I got in, or watch his eyes slowly close as he turned corners...he thought I should be happy enough that he picked me up and didn't have a right to complain about very much.
