Knowing, I suppose, that we love cats, some jerk has put a tiny kitten in our fenced back yard. I would guess her to be three to four weeks old. She looks healthy, but does have some fleas. I telephoned our county Humane Association, for whom I used to volunteer. They advertise so many good things, and have luxurious accommodations. The "cat house" is a work of art, with playrooms for kittens, private lodging for the older cats, the finest facilities, all the toys they could want, medical treatment if necessary, plenty of funding, and a healthy turn-over of kittens and cats to forever homes. Surprise, surprise...They told me they don't have room for this little orphan. DON'T HAVE ROOM????!!!? I know better than that. Of course there has to be a limit, but the cat quarters are so big that nearly every cat in Bexar County could live there!! I am so distressed. I cannot keep this little waif, as I already have four cats, and I do not want to take her to a shelter where she will be euthanized tomorrow morning, if not today.

are there any cat rescue agencies that can help? I can imagine your distress. I could not take in another animal if I wanted to at the moment.
I hope you do find a home for the kitty. What about craigs list. Put a note on there maybe someone will come through for you.
Sending you lots of prayers.
I understand your anger. I am very very very angry that the abused our dogs, They had absolutely no choice when it came to being stuck with him. He had no right to do that!
Doesn't that just take the cake. We had an abondoned cat that turned feral around here for over a year before I finally took him in (we now have 3 cats and he is my darling), but I tried and tried to get him placed in a shelter. We had him neutered and tamed him so he would be adoptable and there wasn't room anywhere. What I want to know is WHO IS IN THERE THAT THEY DO HAVE ROOM FOR? Because someone is getting their cats in there! And then they have the nerve to ask for more and more money. I couldn't accept another cat either. I have heard of people putting a kitten in a ventilated cardboard box and leaving it on the doorstep of the shelter and then they take it in. But yeah, there are rescue groups out there and craigslist is a good idea, too. Also I think you can advertise on Petfinder.com for a home for the little bugger. Good luck to you and the little fuzzy.
I have just recently heard that abusers and traffickers comb the online "free to good home" ads, and judging by the responses I got from petfinder, where they insist on requiring an adoption fee, I'd say it's probably true. ("I live in new jersey "(five states away from me)"but I'm in Englad now and I want to buy your pet." No reference to anything I said. I'm going to keep trying locally.
go figure huh ? I would just drop her off and leave quick they will take her in . How is that moving to the Island working out did u tell hubby that u have bought a condo yet ? u go girl and please yurself he will adjust . Louise
Grrr....how horrible is that?!!! This is why I can't abide by people who do not get their animals "fixed". Now there's a little orphan who needs a home. It's not her fault that she was abandoned. Call around to some rescuse places, I am sure someone would be willing to take her. If Piper wasn't so spoiled I would say send her here, but that could be disasterous. Any chances one of your son's would take her? Maybe if you make a donation to the Humane Association they would reconsider? Good luck finding her a place. I know she's in capable hands. Love and blessings to you and your family. Piper's pictures are on the way to you. Kiss the rest of the family for me.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

well, well, lovely (((Diva))). looks like the cat certainly doesn't got your tongue.
i got to keep telling myself to NOT have expectations of what other people can and will do... no matter how cruel, silly, intentional, unthoughtful, etc etc
some people just don't think things through... they don't see (choose not to see) the consequences of their actions
hope you can let it go; HP may have a plan for little Whiskers, too
much love, always, cj

if I lived closer I would take it. My mom's old cat is dying and she could use a kitten- sorry this happened to you Diva, yes, its supremely inconsiderate- although someone must have known you would find the solution one way or the other. J.
My feral cat of 14 years just died. Long life without being able to touch him or bring him inside when it was 0 degrees. I know the feeling when you have to say no, no, and no. Hope kitty finds a home.
Hi diva, Well now this baby is your lap.No you do not need this kitten, but it needs you.
Diva I live in a little town, one road in one out. I could place a kitten in a day. To a very good home. Been doing it all my life, rescue.
It will not find another home itself. It is not legal to just leave it there, to be tortured by some idiot, get in the road, or hide to starve to death.
If I were you I would go to a vet,get it tested for disease, pay for a spay or neuter credit. Give or get the kitten shots, wormed, check ears etc.
I would get a tiny drop of Frontline on it. If you see one flea, there are many teeny tiny ones.
Then take a few cute pictures, get this sweetheart on Craigslist.
There are many people who would love a kitten with a cert. and its present needs met.
I would take it in a New York sencond. I understand not everyone has time for rescue. You could also call a vet and ask about private rescues for cats. Call, offer a nice donation.
I am sorry,my experience is, shelters are getting rediculous in charging huge amounts for animals. Hundreds for a mixed dog.
Anyway, you know I would take it if i could. Fly it here. I am not sure if there are any airlines transporting animals now as it is so hot.
I am kidding.Really Diva I support your outrage. I have seen such horrible things. Nothing surprises me anymore. This baby needs you. hugs, debilyn
You can but try your hardest to find this baby a home. If you have exhausted all efforts then this little one has come to you for a reason. I have two dogs (the girls). They are sisters the first one we chose and the second one was going to be put down by the owner. I said give me 24 hours to find her a home. We took her in - she is now 12 years old and I have to say its almost as if she knows I saved her. She follows me everywhere and is the most loyal beautiful dog you could ever have. Good luck. Luv Leo xxx
Yep... I ended up with a tiny little stray that was thrown over the fence too... She is now long hairs, fat, wears an $80 dollar rinestone collar and thinks she's all that ... If I have a glass of water she has to have one too. If I have ice, she gets ice... Started because she was hand fed. Dam I love that cat...Lol.
Funny the cats I picked out have never won my heart they way she has. Sorry it was dumped on you. People can be so cruel! Mine turned out to be one of the best friends I've ever had though. She's also a bed hog and snores... Even my boys all have a ton of pictures of her in their cell phones. Its pathetic!!!
When I lived with the A we lived in a spot where they dropped off dogs regularly. I did end up giving those pets away. I can only do so much and my finances were tight then too. You have the right heart. This is tedious horrible stuff that is dumped on us by others. I know you love animals so you will get through this.
How deluded some people are.
I fed a little stray cat for a while out the back of my yard. She was lovely but I am in no position to keep it up. She found someplace else. I was relieved. I love animals but as with humans I get attached too quickly. Leaving my dogs last year almost killed me! I will never leave them again that's for sure.
Bless you for taking in that little scrap and taking care of it.
