Letting Go

Years ago 10/14/92

Day before my Birthday my sponsor gave me a gift, Although she has given me other gifts of this great program too.

It was a book Marker, on the store bought side ..( by Hazelden) said

Letting Go

The world is a better place

When we take care of ourselves.

This was a time in my life I was raising 6 children and a whole lot going on. I did not make time for me. To busy.. I thought.

Today as I read what she wrote on the back, Of my book marker,

Sharon,

Letting Go is not easy, However its a must!

For our own sanity we must let go,

By this we shall gain Serenity!

Love ya

Mary

I see this to be true, For I learned to take care of myself.

Love (((Group hugs)))Sharon/angel123

thanks for that..i am in the grips of something i do not fully understand yet..and letting go of it..or things is difficult for me..not certain what to keep and wjhat to release

i guess keep the good and release the bad is about as simple as i can put it to myself

letting go to me means talking my own words...my own voice and my own emotions

letting go means leaving...possibly..a relationship which at times seems strained and miserable

but i think letting go means me letting go of patterns of behaviour i have carried around for a long long time

i still need need need to understand my role in the situations that get me down

i will keep trying and doing..loving caring working and above all giving my life and time to the will of my higher power who at times seems threatening to me..i guess that is simply the fear which i need to deal with..understand and let go

thanks for sharing

peace to you all

Thanks for sharing that with us, it was a very touching and true statement about letting go.
Letting go for me is a constant, as we have decided to sell a farm that has been in our family for five generations. Any and everything i can read on Letting go and Letting God is a help to me in this time of change. Thanks for adding to the things I can hold on to for hope.

coping.org has a great worksheet on letting go and detachment. My home group used it as a guideline for a very long study on letting go and detachment. It was a great study. I wish I'd have had this worksheet when I first came into program it really has helped me understand how to let go and how to detach.
