irritating day

  • Yes, today the fuel pump died just as we were returning from holidays, am having a run of having everything break together, have had to buy new washing machine and could have done without this expense, still I am trying hard to do a gratitude list,
  • I have a spare car, so just need to transfer insurance on monday
  • I have a wage coming in so this is not the end of the world
  • I did get towed back all the way to the nearest garage having argued my way not bullied my way into negotiating with my Automobile association people should have only been covered by 12 miles but have upgraded my membership now, its worth it
  • Ex-A not able to irritate me quite as much as usual, a good feeling
  • Health is good
  • Am concentrating on my own work
  • This too will pass

Aloha Lorna!!

That's the kind of program that saves mind, body, spirit and emotions for me.
That's the kind of process that works if you work it and you did it!!  Awesome
because it is verifying.  Last Wednesday I stopped off at my favorite Autoparts
store to get some oil because my older work truck likes it like an alcoholic likes
booze.  I got the oil and was a bit quizzical at the higher price (why Jerry F...are
you not awake to the reality of the OIL CRISES is your denial so good that you
can even make THAT go away?) but left to go back to work.  I got in my truck
and it would not start.  Okay I know I got problems so go do and inventory an
investigation.  Alternator gone...$130.00 bucks.  Price of oil doesn't look so
bad now.  Cost of alternator has taken over.  However as I exit the door to go
have one of the employees help me check it out my HP mentions, "what a cool
place to have it happen eh Jerry F?"  Who can disagree with that.  Through it
all I got to spend quality time with people who serve my needs.  Communication
with real people outside of the program I'm usually and who seem to have a
great one themselves.  The opportunity to practice expressing gratitude to
them, time, HP and to bring back my defunct alternator for a $23.00 core
refund.

I learned that I still   have work to do on impatience.  When I am patient and
accepting the frustration doesn't rise.

Mahalo for your share on that experience.  I'm gonna go practice some more.

(((((hugs))))) smile

(((marie & Jerryf))) Speaking of patience. I was the program chairman for our last Tuesday's Al-Anon meeting. Since I have always felt blessed with an abundance of patience, I decided that would be a good topic for the program. I did not need to work on my patience, but I knew it would be helpful to several of my good friends in my Al-Anon gorup that were not as lucky as me. Tuesday's is a busy day at my business, but I knew I only would need 15 or 20 minutes to prepare. I statred around 4:30 pm. No problem. Then a couple of customers called and placed orders, my wife called, an employee can in to ask a question. I checked the time and it is 4:55. Nancy who handles the bookeeping and has a desk in my office is aware that I am trying to prepare a program for the 6:00 pm meeting. One minute later at 4:56 U.P.S. pulls up as they always do around 5:00 to pick-up our out going packages. That was the last straw. I say in a loud voice WELL D---IT!!! Since reacting in a loud voice and saying the 'D' word is a little out of character for me at work , Nancy turned to me and asked,"What is wrong?". I said oh, nothing, I've been trying for 30 minutes to work on the Al-Anon program for tonight, and one thing after another keeps happening!! Then Nancy turns toward me and asks " What are you planing to have the program on tonight" I just smiled with a guilty look on my face and said------- patience. Enough said!! RLC
