Love the miracles in my life...feel so much is happening as I accept more and more of what is in my life. Not fighting my life as much these days, and I am sure that is something to do with Alanon and practising the programme and reading and writing and sharing with this ((((family)))).
Nothing stays the same, it just sometimes feels like nothing has changed and then suddenly I read something and I identify and then I realise that I have changed, I have made progress and I have not been walking this road of recovery in vain or alone.
It seems that sometimes it is like finding the rainbow [made by the sun shining through the rain] after the storm...to see the rainbow one has to be OUT of the storm - one cannot see it when one is IN the storm. There is nothing more inspiring and heart-lifting than looking at that wonderous rainbow and seeing its magnificence. If it were NOT for the rain the rainbow would NOT be possible, so the rain is the cause and the rainbow is the effect.
Well, I see the more I work at my programme, the further understanding I have of me and how I tick. I love knowing how others tick and so it has become a wonderful delight to realise that I can find out how I tick too.
I was reading in "Courage to Change" for today: "...why are you saying your ABC's so many times?...The child replied, "I am saying my prayers." I couldn't help but laugh. Prayers? All I hear is the alphabet." Patiently the child explained, "Well, I don't know all the words, so I give God the letters. God knows what I'm trying to say."
Out of the mouths of babes...so true, sometimes I don't have the words, so why don't I just say the alphabet and leave God to go figure out the words 'cos that would be demonstrating faith instead of showing fear.
Also, I want to share theToday's Reminder with you all too: "Prayer is my most personal form of communication. I can pray by consciously thinking, writing, creating, feeling and hoping. Whether I reach deep inside myself or turn outward toward the majesty of nature, it is the spirit of prayer rather than its form that matters. Today I will let my heart speak."
Red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue, I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too.
My heart is speaking now when I tell you that I felt so inspired by nature today, thought about this family and fell in love with you all for being my beautiful family, and cried joyful tears that we have one another to hold onto when we walk through the storms in our everyday lives. And suddenly I saw the rainbow in my world and you are the makers of it...so I am sending it back to each and everyone of you to share.
Love Suzannah
P.S. Here comes the sun...

Beautiful sharing Suzannah. I love rainbows! I love rain too, actually. Esp when it's raining and the sun peeks through from under the clouds and it lights up every drop. Beautiful! Rain isn't so bad when it comes and goes. But that's the key, right? Knowing when to get under cover. LOL
Have another nice day, Suzannah. You deserve it.

So Lovely, glad the storm is over for you! Thank you for sharing with us, you are so creative and inspirational for those of us still in the rain. "Still Dancing" in it as they say!
I know it takes time and I will give God plenty of time to work His miracles. It is so worth it. All in Gods time!
Blessings to All and "Let the Sun Shine in" where ever you can.
What you have just described is the "Awakening" embrace it, enjoy it, nurture and relish it for it is yours to have and share, it is a lovely beginning of more wonders that will unfold. I believe in miracles you my friend are one. Thank you for the inspiring share.
My take on the ABC's :) only one of my favorites is ASAP. You can choose the HP of your own.
love ya, Maria
Ever wonder about the abbreviation A.SA.P.? Generally we think of it in terms of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we think of this Abbreviation in a different manner, we will begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days along the way.
*************
There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

Hi Suzannah,
I love that song - it is a lullaby I've consistently sang to all my kids.
I felt uplifted by your post. I really liked today's Courage to Change too. To be assured that my words don't have to be perfect in prayer because God knows my heart, was incredibly powerful to me.
I am so glad you are appreciating the rain and starting to see the sun shine and the rainbow that glows as a result. May we all follow your lead...
Blessings, Lou

Hey this is wonderful, thank you for ALL your encouragement and kind words.
Anyway, Serendipity your pot of gold was the journey...you see pots of gold come in all forms, and some gold is absolutely priceless.
Jen, you can share my umbrella any time. I love walking in the rain, and when it comes it saves me having to water my garden. I also like the sun and love the rainbows.
Well SuSun, this storm has for now been weathered...I am sure there will be others but I will weatherthem out too, especially when I know I have a shelter to come into.
Peggy - an awakening, I like that - never thought of it in that way. However, the miracle is this family, I cannot take the credit for this one.
Maira, I just loved that one...may I print it off and keep it on my fridge...I may even make it into an embroidery plaque? Thank you for that.
Debilyn, My philosophy in life is if one shares the bad times with others, it is only fair to share the good times too so that neither get weighed down by desponancy. How's the barn coming along?
You know Loupiness, it is good to know that Ihave made a difference to your day, from across the waves. I agree with you 100% and I felt uplifted by your response too. When I read CtC each day I will think of you doing so at some stage in the same 24/7 and I will not feel so alone.
Thank you everyone for enjoying my rainbow...you are welcome to follow it to your "pot of Gold" too.
