Chat Room

I love the meetings in the chat room and I'm wondering......................
what goes on in the chat room after the meetings are over?
I dont want to just "listen in" but I want to know what kind of things people talk about in the open chat room.
I'd like to visit, but dont know what to expect.

Chatters.........can you help me out confused

Thanks,
Jackie

Jump on in and listen in!! *Grin* It can be really varied in there as to what is being talked about. Sometimes there is conversation about recovery related issues, sometimes there is just "how ya been, what ya been doin lately" talk, sometimes there is mass silliness and laughter, sometimes there is all of the above and then some !!!

I think open chat helped my recovery immensely - I was able to talk informally with a lot of other people about issues and get all kinds of viewpoints. Often that isn't available in a structured meeting.

Hiya!

I'm in chat a lot and like kis said, there is no one topic in chat, and sometimes there are several conversations going on at once. Think of it like, being at the before and after of a live meeting (or even a break) where people are mingling. Would be happy to see u there :)

Love in recovery,
Christine

Hon when my life was at its worst, the people that made the chat room, were my sanctuary.

We would chat into the wee hours of the night. Laugh, cry  share, goof around.

I would get so into it, I forgot where I was physically. I was "there" totally.

Was amazingly healing. I still have  a special friend from that time eight years ago.

I hope you will go in. You will feel welcome believe me. We always LOVE more people coming in.

hugs,debilyn

((((JackieS)))),

Welcome to the MIP family.  We do exactly that: chat about anything and everything.  Sometimes it's not about the As in our lives.  Sometimes it's about the everyday things.  It's okay to listen.  I've learned alot from just listening.  Don't be afraid if you need us, to jump right in and say HELP!  You're always welcome.  We a fun, thoughtful and crazy bunch of people.  It's a great support system.  It can be very much like the after meeting meetings at a face to face.  Some of the best lessons can be learned from those time.  Come join us!

If you are not used to real time chat, it can be a bit confusing at first.  Several conversations might be going on at the same time.  It doesn't take long to get the hang of it though.

I don't use it much, but then I'm not much of a chatter in "real" life either.  There have been times when it was a real life saver, though.

The mood and topic changes at a whim, its great. So often we get funkie and thingk we have to stay in that mood all day. One minute your rolling on the floor and the next your doin serious life stuff. Its reaally a nice way to learn to make the most of minutes instead of days. Its very "In the now"
