My dad who lives 900 miles away from me, is very special, he is definitely one of a kind. A few years ago I went for a visit. I stayed about two weeks and one day he said, I need a hug! Boy, was that weird but special, actually unusual. I spent almost one whole day or so it seems crying because he misunderstood about something that happened when I was a teenager. Anyway, it was as if I had gone back to then. Today my dad is very supportive of me but he gets nervous when I start acting differently like when I visited him for my grandma's funeral. By the way, it wasn't his mom but his former mother-in-law. I miss him terribly but can't seem to pick up the phone to call him. Does anyone out there ever have this problem? I do email him, though. And, also he is pretty deaf, and has been that way for years! He worked with a lot of noise for over 30 years. I am so proud of him for working so hard to keep our family together and keeping a roof over our heads! He kept the same job for almost the whole time except for a short time when he got laid off, but that was a long time ago. He is not an A but his dad was and I know that he consciously drinks very little because he knows about the disease. He has grown so much because he has seen me go through terrible times and has changed his outlook on life which was partially because of my disease but I worry because he gets depressed because of his retirement and really unable to find a lot to do! I am just so glad that Father's Day is a special day! Those of you who lost their fathers, I hope you are comforted,. Like the song," The Living Years" by Mike & the Mechanics don't let the time get away. Bless you all who have read this. I hope this brings a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. Just me Kathleen
