Yes, its been one of those days. At present I am working on trying to recruit students to a good evening ba programme which will offer alternatives to studying entirely on campus. I have done a good job. Today my boss tell me my name is being mentioned too much and he has been advised to leave me out of reports which I write. Unethical, apparently its not going down too well with some higher uppers in management committee who have tried to sabotage this project from day one. Help me keep my temper! My boss is a fairly nice guy who is not too comfortable with this but who will go along as I will have to for the money. I can use the reports for other projects so hell its not the end of the world, yes I am grateful for the talent I have for this project so any advice on how to get rightful credit would be appreciated.
You know you're good and competent and your clients probably do also. Your boss knows it and so do the others who are having a problem with the program it seems and not you. I like appreciation from others on certain things when it is honest and not patronizing. I don't like the horns and confetti; the praise. I have had a problem with ego and pride and it's been hard keeping my self in line in the past when I didn't get recognition or when I got too much. Today I say with all honest...If you like what I do bonus me or increase my income.
I do my job. I do it as best I can and I go to any reasonable lengths to get it done with completeness. I use the Al-Anon program in my work and in my self governance and get recognition for what I do and how I do it. That's enough for me. It tells me that the program...my program is working and the people who need most to be positively affected are.
