When we enter the world of recovery so many dynamics come into play. Life continues to unfold.
We still experience saddness, disappointments, frustrations, anger and fear. Many of us don't know where we will end up from here. Where we will live, where we will work, how we will take care of our families. Whether our marriages or relationships will withstand the tides brought about by change, or even if we want them to work out will come into question. We will experience losses in our lives.
However, if we stay the course of our recovery, wonderful things will unfold as well. A refreshing of the spirit will take place.
A smile will no longer be simply a facial expression, but come from deep within so that if you cover your mouth, you will see it in your eyes. Laughter will no longer come from your throat, but from your chest, for it will be deeper inside of you. New, wonderful friendships will be developed, some of our old relationships will be restored.
The sense of connection, with ourselves, the world around us and the God of our understanding will be renewed.
We may at times be alone, but won't feel lonely. We grow, heal and recover. We won't stand on the outside, looking in any longer. We will become present and available to ourselves, and those around us.
A new way of life. A new way of seeing things, hearing things, feeling things will come to us.
Because we have changed.
Life won't always be a bed of rose's, but we will have the ability to climb out of the despair.
No matter how far into the forest of life we travel, no matter how lost we feel in this journey...
It will only take 12 Steps to find our way home.
Yours in the spirit of recovery, John F. (MIP Founder/Webmaster)

This is nice, John. Thanks for posting it. Sometimes we just need a reminder of where we are going, even if we don't know the exact destination.
In recovery,

So nice of you to come forward with some ESH John. I am grateful for your post. Mostly I see you with pick and shovel working in the background to keep foundations stong. You are blessed because you bless others. "What goes around....comes around."
