Oh the Ruby Blue!!

Aloha All!!

Took a day to get the time zone, jet lag, blues out of the way and make a
report.  Ruby Blue (middle name Azulema) is exactly like what a month old
doll should be especially when perfectly dressed up by loving Mom and Dad.
I had to smile checking out how they are reacting as "new" parents held up
against my own experiences that included progression from one to four
children.   We do learn and do change tho I don't know if there will be more
little ones from these two loving family members.  Age I believe.

Oregon was as predicted.   Landed in Portland and then Bend when temps
were in the mid to high forties.   Come on!! With all those miles and miles
of trees you think someone could just randomly set a convient fire here
and there rather than travel around in such a huge denial.   It was cold
(for me) like cramping cold.  I'm not good at making believe anymore so
maybe I was a bit amusing some of the time.

Anyhow got to meet the Ruby right at the airport.  Cheeze Louise that
was sooo pleasing and of course she stepped right up and yanked my
wife's, her paternal grandmother's chain.  My wife is in withdrawal as she
should be.  With another grandchild on the way and the youngest child
soon to be wed I'll be looking for a second job just to afford the airfare.

The trip was very nice.  I had time to look around and take an inventory.
One of the realizations was I need to cut loose from the so serious and
spend time just playing in the Garden of Eden.   It is a Garden of Eden that
place called Bend Oregon.  Pretty...a bit far from home but certainly pretty.
We got to meet Al-Anon Family as we took in a meeting.  All expectations
were just like home and the feedback was very supportive.   Are we not all
human?  Do we not all love and support each other just like we like to be
loved and supported?  Do we not rely on each others relationship with
their own personal Power greater than themselves?  That was the warmest
cold day I've ever had in my life.

Did some sight seeing (tourist person 1st class), ATVing, fishing (one toss
back rainbow trout.  I was taken by the beauty that surrounded me and the
beauty I held in my hand...that fish would have never ever made the frying
pan with me...maybe that's why I'm such a peanut butter sandwich person),
lots of making up for lost time and program sharing.  One amends.  I got
exhuberant about...of course ME, I, MYSELF blah, blah, blah and got caught
at it.   Best way out?  Own it...apologize and look busy.

I thought of some of the members of this forum who have come from around
that area and pictured them in my heart.  It would be nice to see some of you
face to face and hug to hug.  The heart has vast open spaces thank HP.  We
can wander and roam and still be at heart.

Anyway...got to see her minature majesty and touch her minature majesty
and carry (couple of times) her minature majesty and even rock her to sleep
a time or two.  Got to meet the new daughter in law...Ruby's Mom.  I like/love
her too!  Got to shrink the space twix Step-Son-in-Law and trade some life
time together, talking, fishing, eating,
riding, watching a UFC match. Man stuff...Ruby neither approved or disapproved she
just ate, slept, minded her own business...which was make her grandma smile. She's
soooo good at that.

I knew I'd find you all home so I wanted to knock and check in. Loving you all
(((((hugs))))) smile.gif

I am so with you in your heartland. How delightful, how wonderful, how mesmerizing. It does sound like a Garden of Eden experience and I am sure it will live on in your soul as one too. The pure joy of it tugged at my heart too. Splendiferous - if ever there was such a word.

Thank you for sharing this joyous time with us. I am so happy and uplifted by it all.

((((((((((((Jerry))))))))))))))),

Ruby Blue is such a lucky young lady to have you as her Grandpa.  I am so happy you had a wonderful journey.  You are richly deserving, my friend.

Regarding the weather, I am a native of New England and I gotta tell ya, as I get older (gulp), I hate the cold and rawness more and more.

Welcome back and home!
love in recovery,
Maria

Awesome stuff Jerry..... it's so cool that you share your heart about Ruby, and all she means to you and yours.....

I'm from beautiful BC, a couple of hundred miles north of Bend, Oregon, and it is truly one of the prettiest places on earth.....  The weather isn't anywhere near as nice as Hawaii, nor are the pineapples & mangoes as fresh, but the beauty is comparable.....  Glad you got to experience it all.....

Mahalo all and RLC you do have a nack for perception.   How such little hands
can hold so much and so many is truely a mystery.  Glad you all liked the
journey as much as we did.  It's a pleasure.

Jerry F,

I just got a grandbaby. What a thrill! If you go to Oregon during another season it might be warmer, he, he.

In support,
