Let us take a few minutes between the picnics, the games, and the fun times to remember what this day is really all about. This is not a political post. Hubby was a Navy Seal. This is a post about rememberance.
To all who have served, are serving, and will serve in our armed forces, from the bottom of my heart I thank you and honor you. To the families of military members, I honor and thank you as well. To those who are gone (including my father, grandfather and friends) I remember your sacrifice and thank you. I met a vet yesterday who served in the Battle of the Bulge. He told me stories and was such a nice man. I gave him a hug and thanked him because I could not hug my father or grandfather. If you see a vet thank them for what they have done, visit a grave, or fly a flag. Go to the VA hospital and cheer someone up. Or take a few minutes and say a prayer for them and their families. To the families who have current members serving, may they all come home soon and be safe. Be greatful we have such wonderful people in our lives. I know I am. Much love and blessings to you and your families.
Live strong, Karilynn, Hubby and Pipers Kitty

Don't really know what Memorial Day is as I live in England, but I guess it to be something like Rememberance Day and I salute all those who gave so much for our future. Four generations of my family serve/served and are still serving.

Thanks for remembering. I actually saw my military son this week. And his new wife and baby. He has been overseas in combat three times. A year ago he got very, very, sick. His unit is over in Iraq right now. If he hadn't gotten sick he would have been over for a fourth time. So the good news is that he will get out of the military next month on a medical. He is 24 years old and has a long life ahead. Hopefully he will find recovery.
