Two recent stories have popped up on the news in recent days, and they both sure smack of "alcoholism".....
In Australia, a man was pulled over by police, and he had a 24-pack of beer snugly fastened in the seatbelt, while his 5-year old boy was sitting on the floor of the vehicle, NOT buckled up..... Tell me THAT doesn't show where that guy's priorities are......
In Virginia..... a man came out of a bar, drunk as a skunk, and handed the keys to his son to drive him home..... After driving erratically, they were pulled over by police..... The boy is nine years old.
Sometimes ya just wanna say STOP, when you see all the ads sensationalizing drinking, how all the "cool people" drink, etc., etc....
Blech..... I hate this disease.

all it would take is one tiny computer chip to read alcohol scent in the vehicle and the car would not start.
I am sure it could be done somehow....
Thanks for sharing this.
A news cast just told of a stupid woman who left her nine month old in her window rolled up car,in our 90' degree heat for 15 min.! She was sited and released. WHAT?? Baby should have been taken and she should be in jail.
I heard one about a woman who was 2 weeks overdue for her 2nd child, driving like a maniac all over the city till she fianlly found her husband's car at which time she flew up on his butt flashing her lights like a cop. She jumps out of her car, 9 and a half months pregnant, in footie pj's, nothing else (the kind with a butt flap) chased a crack dealer out of the car sent him running into the woods and then chassed husband away as he wasn't done getting high. So she took the keys and stood there in the middle of the street screaming how there were crackheads dealing right there in the neighborhood and call the cops and some other insane things...at 3am.....Now, I roll my eyes. Then I used my eyes to try to send bolts of lightening out of them to strike down husband and crack dealer. Scared the crap out of them both and got my car back. Go ahead, roll away......LOL
CG I read the article of the Aussie guy while at a morning A/recovery meeting. I showed it to another recovering brother as the meeting and we both rolled our eyes back into our heads. Neither of us attempted to discuss our own stories to keep the playing field level. I know that this is years later still the disease predates the life of Jesus Christ by some 3000 years and will probably be running long after you and I have left for another planet or where ever.
Yeah this is sickness and it's sad; very sad. Try getting your imagination wrapped around Serenities share. Geeeez Seren...sorry you had to go thru that insanity.
On the other hand here comes our newbie "Ruby" born to two sober and clean parents with years of 12step spiritual recovery. HP's way of defining HOPE. By the way...she's less than a month old and already running the show. We've been sharing our ESH with the new parents regarding the same issue in our past and hanging up before we shout out "HAH!!... gotcha!!)
Keep on praying and sharing your ESH.... (((((hugs)))))
