Short Update

First I want to say that it is nice the door is always open here and it feels so right, so welcoming, and so much like home....
Well, my A has been sober two days, he also has made his own doctor's appointment to get back on meds for the bi-polar, without me urging him or pushing him, or telling him he needed to.  We will see if he follows through.  I have continued to stay calm and work and focus on me.  WOW IS THAT HARD....LOL
Tomorrow afternoon I will spend with my grandson, as I work when they are having his birthday party so we are going to have a NANA and grandson day!!!! Hot date right after he gets off the kindergarden bus!!!! LOL I would have like my A to go to dinner with our grandson, Friday is usually his couple hours after work that he goes to the bar.  I asked if he was going to the bar and he said he didn't know....so I will only count on ME going to dinner.  And ya know what, THAT'S OKAY!!!
Hugs to all of you!!!!

(((((((((((Mary))))))))))),
Way to work your program :). Take care of you and letting him do as he will, not easy to do at times for some of us.

I hope you have a great date ;) with your grandson.

Yours in recovery,

Mandy

(((((((Mary)))))),

You set a great example for working your program.  Have a wonderful "date" with your grandson.  Wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY for me, from one Taurus to the next.  We may be a handful, but we're worth it!  Much love and blessings to you and your family.

Mary.... what a great, simple example of detaching with love, and working your own program!!!  There have been many questions posted on the board recently of how we "detach with love", and I think we should refer them to this post!!!!  It's not always super detailed or definitive, and it's okay for us to view our loved ones with some hope for their recovery, but with the primary focus on what we are doing to remain healthy....

Yay you!!!

Tom

Hey Mare,
I'm glad for the update - hope you and g-son have/had a wonderful time. All we can do is control what we do -- which is what you did. Impressive.
Sending much love,
emma
