We have found out that my dear old girl has cancer. We are going to keep her home, love her up and cherish her until it is no longer humane to do so. Then we will sadly say good bye and do the right thing.
Damn this is hard.
Will fill her full of treats, play with all the favorite toys and hopefully she has a few more swims to enjoy.

I am so very sorry. We faced that agonizing decision just over a year ago. MY lovely Boston Terrier was diagnosed with canine Cushing's disease in 2004. She had three good years after the diagnosis. We took her off treatments which were worse than the disease. I remember the day she let us know she wanted to go. My eyes fill with tears remembering. But I feel we gave her a great gift by not letting her suffer. I will miss her always.
Pay close attention. The old dear will tell you when the time is right.
Give her a special treat and a love from me.

I HAD TO HAVE MY 9 YEAR OLD BLACK LAB PUT TO SLEEP THIS PAST SATURDAY. SADIE WAS AN IN SIDE DOG, AND YES SHE SLEEP WITH MY WIFE AND ME. SHE WENT TO MY BUSINESS WITH ME EVERY DAY. LET ME JUST SAY SHE WAS WITH ME 24/7. NOTHING CAN PREPARE YOU FOR THAT DAY. I DEARLY LOVED MY MOTHER AND FATHER, BUT I DID NOT CRY AS MUCH WHEN THEY PASSED. WHAT WE HAVE WITH OUR ANIMALS IS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. WHAT YOU WILL HAVE WHEN THE TIME COMES IS WHAT I ALREADY HAVE 1000 MEMORIES AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD. IILMS ONLY PET OWNERS CAN TRULY UNDERSTAND. JUST REMEMBER THAT IF THEY PUT ALL THE PET IN THE WORLD THAT HAD A BETTER LIFE THAT YOUR DEAR GIRL AND MY SADIE , IT WOULD JUST TAKE A SMALL ROOM , AND IT WOULD NOT TAKE LONG TO CALL THE DAMN ROLL . Sorry to hear that news. It's a hard situation. Our pets truly offer unconditional love.
Sorry about the shoulder too. I know that hurts!! Been there. I couldn't even put my hand up on the steering wheel, let alone put my car in gear. I had to reach over and use my other arm. I went to PT and slowly but surely it went away. Very slowly... Standing sideways and walking your fingers up the wall was one exercise I detested. Ow! Ow! Ow!! But It helped. Cortizone shots helped somewhat too. Take care of yourself missy!

I am so sorry. I have an 11 year old lab. She is my best friend. She gives me comfort and unconditional love. She has been there for me when the A was at his best, and when he has been at his worst. I am already dreading the day when we must part.

It is a hard and precious time. Not the best part of sharing our lives with our animal family.
Having an animal sanctuary, have gone thru morn than my share of helping animal family thru their dieing.
You are so wonderful not to shy away and be there,loving,caring for and enjoying your friend. When your baby goes, if you are in the room, if you choose, hold your loved one. I always look into their face and eyes.
They will only remember you were holding them, loving them.For me I have to think of their feelings before my own.
When that time comes, remember lots of us are here to listen or just to send you love to get thru the hard stuff
Aww.... I know how hard this in on you and the family. The unconditional love of a pet is one of the greatest gifts from HP I know. She'll be ever greatful that you took care of her. We'll keep you all in our prayers. Give the girl an extra hug and kiss for me. Love and blessings to you and your family.
