level.
It's Monday night here and I am off to the hospital again in the morning for my ALL day PMP session.
I am going to be having an early night i.e. off to after this.
However, I thought I would just check in before hand to say: I have been resting and reading a lot of Al-anon in between my exercise sessions, and came across this, which I wanted to share with you.
Before sunlight can shine through a window, the blinds must be raised. American proverb, Courage To Change p65
It was published in News & Views April 2007 issue - The monthly magazine of the Al-Anon Family Groups in the UK and Eire
It make me think that sometimes we forget the obvious and that it has to be ME that does something small to make a difference to my life...one small action like raising the blinds will let the sun shine in. If, however, I am too preoccupied with thinking that it would be nice to see the sunshine but do not actually get off my 'butt' to raise the blind, I will not see the sunshine: so what shall I do, keep thinking about raising that blind so the sun can come in or go raise it?
Simple, and not really difficult, just needs me to put in that small effort to raise that blind however the reward I will receive will be HUGE, floods of sunshine.
I suppose that can be applied to everything that we are going through that might seem to be a huge effort...however, on reflection the effort is probably very small in relation to the reward that we might reap, the effort just SEEMS to be HUGE.
So, off I go to do my exercises and get some shut-eye before I get a whole day of programme...the body and mind will ache for a while, though it will get better in time too. Hanging onto my HP's hand right now, 'cos it hurts right now... boo hoo BUT, and this is when BUT really DOES APPLY, I am looking forward to the SUN and the RAINBOW too. (It is very rainy here!)
Love to all from me Suzannah

Lately, I have been thinking about how hard life is and wishing I could find some joy. I'd better get off of my butt and go raise that blind! Thanks for an eye-opening post.
Dang you're moving on with your recovery....Just DANG!! Had to read it twice cause that one was an exclamation point for the day. No further explanation.
Beautiful Suzannah! Been working on finding the joy here too. Making progress is wonderful.
In recovery,
