anniversary of VTech shootings

Hard to believe but almost a year is upon us since the horrific tragedy at VTech. As I was scanning the message boards, I was recalling the reassurance you all gave me as I tried to comfort my friend. I haven't heard from her, I can't recall if she graduated, but God knows that the campus is probably gearing up for the media firestorm sure to erupt here in a few weeks.
If I may impose on the MIP AFG family here, please pray for all of God's creatures there, great, small, and students. From what I understand, in the immediate aftermath (as in 3-6 months) the faculty and the police were in quite a disagreement as many of the facilities that were research based also were sites of (tragically) investigation and blood shed. This means that research is behind, scholarships are drying up and papers may need to be restarted from the ground up because the police investigation has taken priority over accessing labs, equipment, and various (quite expensive) facilities. Other facilities, from what I could gather, are simply going to have to be rebuilt: between the shoot outs, the chemicals used in CSU analysis, and so on, the equipment needs to just be pitched.
I doubt that, to be fair to every one involved, it'll be a smashing surprise to see CNN. On the other hand, I have a feeling that anyone was interested in welcoming spring (which, for those of you in the south, know it's so beautiful at this time of year) seeing CNN. But I have no doubt that prayers could be useful.

In rememberance of those who perished in the tragedy and the family and friends they left behind.  By the grace of HP a friend of mine's daughter had a cold and did not attend class that day.  She would have been in one of the classrooms where the carnage took place.  Another friend was a football coach who left the school for another job months before.  One never knows.  GO HOKIES!  Prayers for all those involved in this horrible tragedy.

My prayers are with the families, students, and staff of the tragic events a year ago.  Everyone here in Virginia knows someone  effected by the day.  It's a beautiful campus.

I will be praying for the students, faculty and the families of the victims of this terrible terrible tragedy. May they all be comforted in their loss.
