yes, if you go to any head shop you can buy a drink to pass drug tests. You have to drink it about an hour before you take the test though. You can probably find it online. I can say from personal experience as a former daily pot smoker that it works well! It usually costs about $40 or $50 for a bottle.

Hi Lou,
There are things on the market that are supposed to help people pass drug tests. My hub has taken Niaccin in the past, you sweat it all out I guess or something like that. That was freaking scary. Sweat was pouring off him and he turned all red. But now they test for that, so there are other things.

I don't know exactly what it is called and he called the store that we got it from a "head shop" But there are drinks we bought that would help him have a clean UA. From what I saw they worked. There were instructions on the side. He had to drink it at a certain time before the UA and had to drink so much water.

I know there are more things out there. I talk with co-workers who are recovering addicts and am shocked at what I hear sometimes.

I've met people who said they could do this. I wouldn't count on it. They are continously upgrading the tests to catch people. If a test looks nebulous like when someone drinks a whole lot they just retest them. The issue is that an addict can get away with it once or twice but eventually they can't.

Some places even do hair samples.

Golden seal root was what I tried to take when I was younger (don't ask). It was a powder that was made into a tea and you were supposed to drink it for like 3 days before a drug test. It was sold in health food stores. There are a few others these days that I am sure are more effective and sold in health foodstores.

Forgive my naivete but what's a head shop? Hubby's a drinker not a drug addict so this lingo is new to me (and him when I asked him). He thought it might be an automotive shop! lol

A head shope is where they sale drug paraphenalia. pipes, bongs, papers, roach clips,

usually tied die stuff, neat hippie dresses, beads, leather, all kinds of fun stuff.

People might as well give it up. The lab people are not stupid.They know when a person has tried to "get rid of" the evidense. Most you end up with too much water in your urine so they retest ya.

The other sneaky things come up. If you are caught using them they will just call it dirty.You can go online and get all kinds of stuff.

Thanks for the responses. While I can't feel confident about anything when it comes to figuring my ah out, I think he is staying sober since he is terrified of losing his license, undergoing a rigorous recovery program, no longer gets sick all the time, is available early mornings for my kids, and is unfocused and crazy at work. Indicitive of him flying "solo", ya know?

Not that I could do anything about it anyway, but it had been mentioned to me enough that I just thought I'd ask. He has about 150 straight days of AA about now and has been attending weekly counseling and twice weekly professional groups for 5 mos. I was kinda hoping he'd have his head out of his a** by now. Too bad for me. hmm

Oh, and an update on the homeless guy in the camper on our property.... the very next day my ah made a few calls to some "seedy program friends", got a flatbed and hauled the camper (and the guy, who btw, is here illegally from Canada and has the mentality of a 7 yr old) back to the town he came from to some property next to a taco wagon. Hmmm.. he said one guy told him it took the last guy 2 yrs to get rid of him. Now why did my ah ever think he was the one who had to save him when it only took a couple of phone calls? Oh yeah, that's why I posted in the first place. It's just mind-boggling.
