i havent been here in quite some time, but when i clicked on the chat room, it wont load for me. i get the little white square with the red x on the top left corner. does anyone know why that might be happening? obviously, the message board opens for me, but the chat room wont....
You have to have Java enabled. A lot of security software and browser addons shut off Java because it can be made to bring in spyware and viruses and such. Many anti spyware packages will let you exempt a site from strict security settings. Impossible to know in your situation but on Mine I get around this with the firefox browser, an addon called noscript. This lets me turn java on in my browser all the time but it blocks java or any script at all until I tell it that I think its safe. Most likely the right setting will be in your browser options or internet security settings.
I'm unfamiliar with Internet explorer or other browsers but you could also download mIRC. its shareware but keeps running after the trial so its kinda free. Its a bit complicated butthere are directions on this site to set it up and get in the chat room too.
