Listening to the Osmonds Reunion concert. Marie and Donny are singing "It takes two". I miss my AHsober. We went skiing together - his idea. He said it will be fun. It was. Just like old times. Then we went south to golf and warm up after this wicked winter. My idea. I said it will be fun. It was. Now we again go our separate ways. I am thinking but "it takes two" to have fun. I am going away for the weekend. My idea. There will be other people. Not my AHsober. So "it takes two" so I am bringing my HP (which I am learning to do). Hope I have fun. Let go Nancy of what use to be. Now I am in recovery and have my HP within and that makes two.
I hear ya, I get it and your glance at the past is good. I too am trying to focus more on the good time memories and also working on being ok, maybe moments of super great even to having fun, not alone but knowing HP is always with me. Thanks for posting and helping me to keep working - it works if you work it. You are making lots of progress and sounding so good as you go forth and do things you want to do. I notice and you give me hope, baby steps count and progress is made. Have a fun weekend!! hugs, ddub

Nancy, I know what you mean. No one enjoys the little quips about our children like their father. We spend all free time as a family---except when he goes on a binge. He's "partially" sober---I just made that up. For the sake of our children, I want to keep our family together--things are not the same when we are not together.
On the other hand, I'm sure there is happiness to be had without our husbands. We have to be open to receive it---it's a great start for you to be going away this weekend. You are never alone--have a great time. mom to 2
