cat not well.

My tiny Siamese Ruby is not well. She is not eating much. She is drinking though and not dehydrated and her level of activity is high.  I am going to change her food and get her basic protein some other way.

Please send up your prayers for her. I have really been struggling with the animals.  The beagle dog has started eating a lot and begs for food all the time. She is pretty  overweight.

Please send prayers for me to be centered and kind to myself and the animals.

Maresie.

When my dad's cat was on a hunger strike he started giving her Ensure. It was a bit cheaper than the special kitty milk. She loved it and seemed to help get her back to normal food.

How neat you have a kitty named Ruby! I love that name and have thought if I ever get another kitty I will name her Ruby ( or Veronica, or Vivian or Felicia). And you have a beagle??? I love beagles!!! Does he have worms? I know some kinds of worms actually make the animal bloat and look fat. I just went thru a round of tape worms with my mean cat Cecelia. The vet said the worms are caused by fleas. UGH! Disquisting!!!!! But they gave me a topical ointment (similar to the flea treatment) and tada! all better! But still really grossed me out. The worm treatment was only 8 dollars and I believe the pill form was only 4 dollars. Good luck, sick animals and vet bills are NO fun (and the only reason I don't have a house full of rescued animals)!

Mary changing food is dangerous for cats. It has to be done very slowly over time. Did you just change her food?

Has she been wormed? love,deb

Well I think it is related to the death of her best buddy Benny.  She eats different foods all the time.  Geneally she eats Fancy Feast but she seems not to be eating that right now. She eats some dry food but not much.

I am going to monitor her closely and see what happens. She seems very lively and ok and is drinking lots so there is no dehydration but she is a small girl and needs nutrition.

She is very very very sensitive to change. She hates to move, she hates any kind of change at all.

Maresie.

Cats do tend to be sensitive to any changes in their lives.

They can also grieve over the loss of another feline companion.

I hope she starts eating better for you soon (((hugs)))

Most Siamese are wound up pretty tight.

You just said you change her food all the time. Now she won't eat. If I were you I would stick to one kind.
I have over 20 cats out here.I stick to Friskies. They are all very big, nice fur and super healthy.

I free feed so they don't feel starved so eat just when they are hungry.

Does she  have a way to get up and away to feel safe from the dogs?

Did you take her temp.? Check her ears, are they clean? Do her gums pinkup when you touch them in? Pull down her bottom lid, is her skin there a nice healthy white? Any yellowing?

Carefully push her in all over her body, see if she complains.
love,debilyn

(((Maresie)))

I was thinking that she was missing Benny too. It's real hard for an animal to lose their lifes mate. I'll be praying for her. I agree with Debilyn, change in diet should be made gradually. I'm sure you must be worried. You will be in my prayers as well I know this is just as hard on you as it is for them.

Take care

Love,

Claudia

(((((((((Ruby))))))),

Pipers Kitty and her Momma are sending you up all the love and prayers for a speedy recovery.  Take good care of yourself so your Momma can be happy.  Besides the beagle needs somebody to play with so he can loose some weight.   Love and blessings to you and your family and extra love to your Momma.

Meow strong,
Pipers Kitty aww

Ruby rallied around some this weekend. I brought her a heating blanket.  She started eating again. Thanks so much for your prayers. I could not bear to lose another animal.

I'm glad kitty is feeling better.  My dog is now doing the same thing.  He won't eat.cry  This is not like him.  He hasn't touched his dish for a few days, but is drinking a lot of water.  Please say a few prayers for him.
