Letting go one thread at a time

I went to my meeting and it helped, but I wasn't ready for some of it. They recommended that I talk to his probabtion officer.  He is not a juvenile and I really don't know that it I should intervene. I try to have him settle all his legal issues, and he has decided not to get a license yet.  Yes, we drive him or he walks.  I'm losing my other children because they don't want to come home and see if it is a good day or bad.  I will keep trying and set boundries and pray I can keep them.  Thank you for all your words of kindness and strength.  I know I will have to watch him leave, but he will have a warm blanket. There are some that believe that in the world there are no miracles and some that believe that everything is a miracle.  Einstein

I am starting to remember the miracles.

((((((Digby))))))) You sound much better today. Keep taking it one day at a time. There are miracles. I know these days aren't easy, but you're hanging in there. And good for you for marking those boundaries. That will help your other children feel more comfortable about coming home. Eventually you will start to sense the shift in the situation. And it all begins with you.

Take care.

Peace,
R3

Well my ESH is that I certainly have been through some terrible terrible times   They do not last for ever.  One good thing to remember is this too shall pass.
The bad days do not last for ever.  I know it is absolutely horrible at the time. I have to step two some days all day an turn it all over.  At the same time admitting I do not have control is so healing.

Hey Digby,

I continue to keep you in my prayers.  May God direct you to do what is best for your family.  I am also praying for your son.  I know recovery is possible and there is hope.  We had to make touch choices too regarding our son.  We have 3 other children and this disease was wreaking havoc on them as well.  None of it was fair to them.......something we had to take seriously.  Boundaries are important, and sticking to them even more so.  May God give you direction and wisdom.....

God Bless,

I am happy to see your post and know that you are working at it all. Keep it up. You are taking the only steps possible to take care of yourself and in that, be able to be a positive light for your beloved son. You and he have been in my thoughts and prayers this week. Keep coming and keep letting us know how it is going.
