and here's the weekend........

Hello MIP family,

I keep going some days only by the support and encouragement of this family.
I know weekends can be tough for all of us so I thought I'd ask for a line of the week from all of you to review when I am detaching and trying to stay calm.

As I take in something daily from al anon readings there seems to be one or two lines of something that jumps out at me during the week.  It's like a step forward so maybe that happens to some of you.  Please share your thought for the week and you can be sure I'll be looking at them over the weekend.

here's my line from this week's readings:

Faith and confidence replaces fear and uncertainty.

May we all find peace and joy this weekend.biggrin    thanks,  ddub

I have been saying this for a week or two now and it keeps working like a charm:  God will take care of me IF I let Him.

Seems to work best when I start thinking of the people out there who have hurt me or my kids.

This was something I just thought about myself (and posted in a different thread) last night at my meeting. I don't know how true it can be, or if it's borderline dangerous thinking, but here it is:

I have no control over alcoholism, but alcoholism speaking through my AH has no control over ME.

Oh dear me, you got me thinking hard about this one, however, after such an exciting and enlightening week I know I can safely say after asking God [my higher power] for one thing, He decided to give me His version of what I thought I had clearly expressed, which rocked more than my world thus teaching me a huge lesson.

So my thought is this:

I now know who is in control, and it definitely is NOT me.

Thank you (((d))))), I hope you do not mind if join you in this activity, it is just the sort of thing I like to do. Have a good weekend, it is going to be another toughy though, together I know we will get through it.

The one thing that gets me through every situation is "Be still and know that I am God (HP)." Many times my focus is on the "Be still" part of that quote - reminding me to stop all of the anxiousness, worrying, and crazy-making. The second part reminds me that I am not HP. That whatever the situation is, it is out of my control. I am not HP. HP is HP.

I have that quote posted all around me - and it always reduces my anxiety.

These have all been great lines.  I stop by here, read them and take one with me when I log off to ponder and turn over in my mind.  Thanks to all for sharing and helping me to keep my mind focused on healthy thoughts.

Be not afraid, HP goes before me always.

hugs, ddub
