Acorns and Oak Trees...Catepillars and Butterflies...

When the time comes...

Does an Acorn dictate
when it fall from a tree?
Does a Catepillar crawl
away from its cocoon?
No, they follow obediently
natures timely plea;
And dance and bow
To a Creators tune.
Just as surely as the Sun
rises after the Moon, and
the rivers flow into the Sea,
so the seasons lead the way
to Summer, Autumn, Winter Spring.

When is it time to live or die?
Is it time to seek the tomb?
When is it time for a baby to cry?
Should it leave the warm and tender womb?

Some questions are best left
like the reasoning of our God.
And who is He, along life's path?
I ponder what, why, who, when
it's all an enigma and then...

I know deep down inside
I too must follow nature's tune
the pull is so emense.
I cannot deny, defy and - whence,
I ask, does it come and go and why?

When the time comes
it comes from somewhere
so discreet, so Holy and unique.
If I could tell the reasons why
I must decide the risks I take.
If I could tell the reasons why -
you'd see they make me cry.
So, I'll seek inside, like the Acorn
and do as the Catepillar does,
because I might just miss the chance
to be that beautiful Butterfly.

Written by me, 23 September 1994

All my life I have made decisions, and sometimes I could not tell why I made them; it was almost as though nature dictated them and my Creator was in control making them for me. And it was all to get me to this time and place.

The time and place to CHANGE ME, from the Caterpillar to the Butterfly, metamorphosis at its perfection, me changing through recovery and this is what is happening now...even though I wrote this almost 14 years ago, it seems that my season of metamorphosis is truly beginning here and now just as I have seen, and continue to see, others changing before my very eyes within this family.

HB to HH, great post: thank you for it. Its truly amazing the path we are on! How many times we get to be the acorn, the caterpillar in so many different and so many varieties of ways in our lives over the years...I know I have seen sea changes in you HB over the brief time I have been reading your posts. I feel honored to have witnessed you. Hugs, J.

Metamorphisis! Interesting--I was just learning about transforming
my life about metamorphisis.  I really believe God is changing
me from a caterpillar to a butterfly!
I like that song Butterfly by Mariah Carey--it is so pretty!
Anyway, keep coming back!
