It's Been A While.

Hi everyone,

I've not posted in quite a while, but felt the need to come and share with all you wonderful people again.

It's about a year ago since I first found MIP, and I realise today when I reflect back to last year how very confused I'd become again then.

I'm still challenging myself to live in this day, so much easier to say than done at times.

My life today has had many changes compared to last year.
As last year I had many confusions in my life, health being the main issue. Although, I'm glad t say that's improved with the help of medicaton and myself having a more positive attitude.

My marriage was also in danger, again my husband and I have managed to resolve this together.
Most importanly I'm more tuned into my own feelings and relying on my HP.
I thought I'd never find that serenity again, but I did and I'm ever so grateful for it.

My biggest battle last year was seperating the alcoholic and the peodophile.
I can now see I created this battle for myself, my exhusband was both and I was confused.

I understand that not all alcoholics are both it just seemed so complicated for me to understand.

Apologies to you all, as you were all very patient with me during this period and very supportive.

Today I started a course to learn how to counsell young people who have suffered, or are suffering child abuse.

It's something I'd thought about doing years ago, but never acted on it.
I feel so privilaged to be given this opportunity to do so.

I now know that if I hadn't found Alanon again last year, after turning away from it for 17yrs.
I certainly wouldn't have made the changes in my life that I've made today.

I understand I've still got a long exciting journey ahead of me, and who knows it may well have it's rocky bits too.......!

The difference from now and last year is I'm looking forward and not looking back.

Thanks again for all being here, there's no other place I'd rather be right now.

Best wishes,
Barbs.Xsmile

What a wonderful reminder of where this program can take us. I have been in so much pain in the last day I simply have to give it up.  I simply have to turn it over.  I too try to look forward but somedays it is difficult because I am absoltuely flooded with all the pain the A brought me.

Maresie.

Welcome back! Gone but not forgotten. They always tell us progress not perfection. Some of this is so darn painful and hard to understand. Keep coming back.

In support,
Nancy

Welcome back!! It's so good to hear that things are heading in the right direction for you.

I shudder to think where I would be without Al-Anon. My life was just spiraling downward. I had no hope that it would ever get any better. Now I look forward to where life will take me all because of this wonderful program.

Good luck in your journey. Keep us posted.

Love and Blessings,

Claudia

It is always good to hear the progress each of us makes as it gives a large dose of hope to those of us getting started.  Usually it comes at a time it is most appreciated too!  Thanks for this~
Wishing you more good things to look forward to with joy.
