The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
This makes the 2nd time this week someone has posted this somewhere.
When I think about this I feel that we really do not begin to forget our worth untill others treat us as if we are dispensable, and we begin to feel unappreciated and taken for granted. Then a woman can forget her worth. But what we have to remember is that how another treats us is not a reflection of who we are but of who they are.
I needed to hear that, that is the first time I have read such and it is so true. It made me stop and think again about the put downs and the diminishing self worth I lived with all those years and it has taken me a very long time to begin to believe I am worth something. I still need to be reminded that I am worth something and that what others think often says a lot more about them than me in many ways but this one is so reaffirming.
Thank you.
