Alcohol has claimed another life...

Well, It's the 2nd Life that alcohol has claimed in my life in the past 5 weeks.

I lost a dear friend on Thanksgiving to an alcohol and prescription drug overdose.

Now here it is Jan 1, 2008 and I just got word that my cousin's husband was killed in an alcohol related car accident sometime late last night or early this morning.  He was only in his 20's and they have 3 little kids all under the age of 5!!!

Today is the day that my AH has resolved to quit drinking and start AA again.  I pray that maybe he will chose to live before he loses his life to alcohol. And if he doesn't then at least I'm still working on me.

I think that I will introduce my cousin to Alanon, when she is ready.  I think we could offer her some support and help her deal with the loss of her A.

((((Tammy)))),

My condolences to and your cousin's family on their loss.  I too pray that every addict will find their way to sobriety and make it stick.  I always worry about the kids I work with beause there are so many of them that have alcoholics in their lives.  I worry about them drinking and driving.  While I have always loved the holidays, I always hold my breath and pray HP will look over everyone.  Love and blessings to you and your family.   I wish your hubby all the best in his desire to be sober.  I hope he makes it.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty pray.gif

I am so sorry for your losses. I will pray for and also for your cousin.

I will also be praying for your hubby that he will choose to live his life alcohol free and get himself back into AA.

Keep working your program and remember we are all here with our love and prayers.

Love and Blessings,

Claudia (aka claud)

Tammy,

Thanks for sharing. I lost my 2 nephews/son last year. One of them has 6 mos. old daughter that will never see her dad. He was 22. I have another nephew getting divorce because of this horrible thing and he has 9 mo. baby boy.

I hope your cousin can find some peace. Please let me know if I can do anything.

Marsha
