Taking care of me doesn't have to be expensive!

(((((((Family)))))),

Good morning and Happy New Year! party.gif  I got to thinking last night that we all urge each other to do something extra nice for ourselves, take care of ourselves or treat ourselves to something extra special.  Well after the holidays that can be an expensive venture or maybe we just don't have the extra money to do what we really want to do.  But then does it really have to cost us anything?  Maybe it's the smallest actions that can mean the most. I don't have to do them all in a day. I just have to take a few minutes each day for me. Because I deserve it. We all do.

So here's my list of "treats for me".

1) I can sleep late.
2) Sit and watch the snow with the Christmas tree lights on.
3) Drink hot chocolate w/candy canes in it.
4) Take a long walk in the woods.
5) Snuggle with Pipers.
6) Throw snowballs at Pipers!
7) Romp in the snow like a kid.
8) Take an extra long hot shower or bath.
9) Stay in my jammies all day.
10) Not answer the phone.
11) Watch the birds at the feeder.
12) Stay in bed all day and reading.gif or sleep.
13) Watch lots of football (GO USC! GO EAGLES!) w00t.gif
14) Chase the cat around the apartment!
15) I can mix the darks and lights in the laundry (don't tell hubby whisper.gif ).
 16) I can leave dirty dishes in the sink (okay I can't do that).
17) Give myself permission just to be me!

What are yours?

Much love and blessings to you and your families.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty relax.gif

Great ideas, guys!

When I get too stressed, I put on my little headset to my personal CD player and turn up Keith Urban as loud as it will go.  Sometimes I play uplifting songs, other times, I just go with it and let myself cry.
That is one thing I love about Keith Urban's music, he has known suffering, pain, rejection.  And he is a recovering A.  Guess that is another reason I love him.  I wish my AH would say to me the words of love that Keith does in his songs.  It has been a long time since I have felt loved and appreciated as a woman.

A bubble bath definately helps.  Had one just this morning.  I scald my skin, tho!

I  just bought a beautiful new journal this morning for $4.00.  It looks like tooled leather.  I am not very good at journaling, but am thinking of copying the words to Keith Urban's songs in it that inspire me.

Sorry I am so Keith Urban obsessed today.....but he is one thing I do for myself!  LOLbiggrin

Love in Recovery,
Becky1

Thanks ((((Karilynn))))

I have already done some:

Gone skiing both downhill and cross country
Made a fire and cooked popcorn on top of the stove
Tried to catch Spot - she's afraid of my boys
Said the heck with it and went to Phoenix where it is warm!

Happy New Year 2008

Nancy
