Tonight I am going to go to an alkathon! I have never been to one before...it begins at 6PM at a local church and lasts until lunch time tomorrow. There is free dinner and food throughout and lots of non-alcoholic beverages. I think I am going to check it out. I will let you know what it was like. Then again, maybe you all have been doing this for years...happy new year! J.

LOL Jean! I read the title of your thread and I thought "oh man, poor jean. I attened an alkathon every night for 13 years" LOL! Glad you will be with other sober people tonight. Sounds like fun. I'm having one of my own here tonight...course it's with 9 and 13 yr olds who have never had a drink.....Have a happy start to the New Year!!!
Aloha Jean and have fun at the Alcathon!! I maybe going myself. The Al-Anon part starts at 6pm with an open meeting. The alky's love to attend also cause they had to come from somewhere right? and they have lots of "issues" from past family and relationships and the like. Plus Al-Anon has a larger focus other than just not drinking one day at a time. Were all family here...no strangers so if there is a newcomer they might be supprised by the family attitudes.
