New Beginnings

While driving in the car today, I shared with my teenage son that I heard that the number 7 meant "completion" and number 8 meant "new beginnings".  Admittedly,  I decided not to check the validity of this fact because I want to believe it. I like the number reference as it pertains to this past year and the one coming up.  Wouldn't it be wonderful!

Anyhow, I then commented on how this past year was terrible and I was excited to start new.  Do you know I honestly don't think my son knew what I was talking about?  He thought I was referring to war, politics, terrorism....  Something about that just cracked me up.  Perhaps he is in denial.  Or maybe, just maybe, he is emotionally stronger than I thought.  Maybe I haven't wrecked him after all....

Blessings,
Lou

Well if it applied just to the number of the year, then everybody in the world would be on the same path....

2007 for me has been a year of new beginnings.

2002-2003 were years of completion.

2004-2006 were years of peaceful interlude.

I wish you could hear me giggle in delight about your post. Just the fact that ya think ya may have wrecked him shows what a good mom you are.

Gads I love teenagers. My favorite times in my career was spending time tutoring them and having this huge three room area full of them. I was the fortunate one who had almost a hundred of them, as they did not want to go to the assemblies before games etc.

They were not the "preps." They were the goths, skaters, High IQ'ers, at risk, all in all the fun ones. You could  hear a pin drop in there sometimes....I had microwaves in there so we made popcorn, read books, played games, Yakked, talked about soooo many things. It was the preps who took the chairs and put them up in the tree in our outside garden......it was the preps who let out hundreds of crickets in the vps office....

lol

oh sorry lou...probably will give your boy ideas...hahahaa

hey he was in the car with ya too, wow!

hugs lou,debilyn
